A mission team from my church (consisting of 3 young married couples + 1 single person) is on their way to visit a very anti-Christian nation in West Asia.

For security reasons I've been asked not to reveal the name of this nation, but I can tell you that it is a nation that is strongly controlled by a very strong Islamic-influenced government.

These 7 young folks (which also currently includes 3 small children aged 4 and under + 1 on the way [ETA in Feb.]) have committed their lives eventually to wind up serving as full term missionaries to this land, knowing full well that this might at some point require them (and/or their children) to face imprisonment or even death.

This has already happened to some of this country's own citizens who dared publicly to proclaim their commitment to spreading the Good News about Christ.

That's what these young people are up against, but they also fully realize that "our side" is still the one that ultimately will prevail!

They will be gone for approximately one week for this journey.

Please pray for their protection every step of the way.

    Thank you.

:praying: for protection and may the Lord bless these young missionaries.
We will be looking forward hearing the testimonies of those who have
heard the gospel of salvation for the first time. May these people have
a open heart to accept the love and peace of knowing Jesus as their
    Savior.

    Brief update:

The team arrived safely at their destination in West Asia.

Please continue to pray for their safety and protection while they are there.

Even if you didn't post a reply, the fact that you took time to pray for them is gratefully appreciated.

Thanks for caring enough about them to have lifted them up before our Father's Throne of Grace.

WEST ASIAN MISSION TEAM ARRIVES HOME SAFELY !!!

This is to let all of you know that all of the members of my church's West Asian Mission Team has arrived back home safely!! :godisgood:

(Actually they arrived home very late this past Wednesday [10/1/08]. The reason why I didn't find out about their arrival until Sunday, Oct. 5, was because the person who usually sends out the emails from our church was on a three-day retreat from 10/2 - 10/4 & didn't have time to get any emails out to the rest of us prior to 10/5 [She's the mother of several small children too!].)

Anyway, all of them are safely back home. I did get to talk with one of them a little bit after Sunday services. He said that all went well with the trip. On their return trip, they were delayed several hours in Germany due to mechanical problems with the airplane on which they were flying. This unscheduled layover caused them to miss their scheduled connecting flights, but eventually (very eventually!) they got back.

This person told me that all of them definitely sensed the fact that hundreds of folks from all over were praying for them, and that they are very grateful for all of you who took time from your schedules to hold them up before our Father's throne of grace. :praying:

The fact that they're all back here doesn't, of course, mean that they now want you to stop praying for them!

This team still has very much to do before all of them are actually over and settled in West Asia. They all still need your prayers, support & encouragement as they prepare to head over there on a permanent basis.

Where they are planning to serve is a nation that geographically is very vitally situated. It is a major source of oil for much of the world, and many Islamic people from all over that region of the world are moving to the city where they plan to operate.

The potential of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be carried from that city to all over the Islamic world is very great---and Satan knows this! Don't think for one moment that the god of this world is sitting idly by while these people prepare to move to West Asia.

So please, please continue to be much in prayer for this group of young people!

    Thank you.
