To an extent class determines destiny in this pandemic. I am as poor as a church mouse but I live and work on the edge of a prosperous area. I lost fear of this disease some time ago because the death rate is roughly 1/2 of 1 percent. Regular flu is more deadly. The rich say for you to stay away from them because they don't want what you have. My sentiments exactly.

 

Apparently from 29 to 69 thousand people die of flu every year. With this virus, it should disappear after this pandemic.

 

Just to understand your position more clearly, then if I have no objection to them experimenting on you or your progeny, in other words volunteer you or yours for experimentation, do you agree that they should be allowed? Remember, this is brand new with no long term results available.

 

The question was a general one, not about this specific vaccine. You don't get to pick and choose what experiment you or your progeny will be volunteered for. That is the nature of the issue.

Are you willing to be volunteered for whatever experiment someone else chooses? You seem rather cavalier with your just-suck-it-up attitude, so I'm interested to what degree it applies to yourself.

But since you're not even willing to drive a few measly miles in this case, there are obviously serious limits to it.

 

People who would have died of flu if exposed to flu are the same who die of covid when exposed to covid.

Maybe fewer, in fact. Flu is more dangerous, especially to younger people, just less contagious. At least, that's what I'm hearing.

 

It will kill billions over time, millions in the near future, and hundreds of thousands within a few months, and thousands within days.

Yes, my point is people who are likely to do of one are likely to also die of the other. Those people have the same susceptibility. Meaning for me, if covid did not kill them the flu will, if they are going to be exposed to either virus.

I just heard on NBC news, 31% of children tested for covid were positive to covid. So the exposure I suppose is going around, maybe a herd immunity will develop, which is a good thing, because if enough people are exposed and infected, the virus has nowhere else to go, because everywhere it goes, it finds a priorly infected person, and it dies out.

All forms? You seem to be just fine with drafting that can only be avoided by losing one's job or losing access to tax-paid education. Maybe that's OK for those who can start their own business or establish their own school (will they be refunded their taxes for the purpose?), but not everyone is that capable.

 

I don't see that an employer should be able to dictate medical treatment to an employee. The county board of health is mandating masks in the workplace in Indianapolis and I think that that is over the top because I do not work very close to anyone. The spike in Indianapolis is attributable to the deadly riots.
