FTR (since you have addressed this to one "HD" which I would presume is Havensdad), Havensdad has never so much as used any either "Episcopalian" or "baby sprinklers" in any post he has ever made on the BB. For whatever else he may (or may not) have said, for good or bad, he has not ever said this. (Man, how did I ever find myself defending Havensdad on the BB, in the first place?) Must have something to do with my own ideas of fairness and refuting false charges, I guess! Nothing like a good comic book for some supposed source, I guess!

Amen, Brother Ed -- Preach it!

I first found out about the conspiracy theory of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) to squash the KJV (King James Version) in Chick Comics. Bro. Chick sure makes good Salvation Comics :) and bad Conspiracy Theory Comics :(

    Oh please!

Learn a little real history about the Bible, rather than effectively "dumping" someone's "hatchet and 'stick' job" -er' I mean "cut and paste" about some "Jesuit conspiracy", although it does appear that you likely never saw a conspiracy that you didn't like.

The complete English Bibles, namely the WYC (1382), WYC-P (1395), MCB (1535), MAT (1537), TAV (1539), GRT (1530-41), GEN (1560 ff.) and BIS (1568), so apparently, these alleged catholic [sic] agents" were a bit slow on the uptake, with this "after the fact" process, considering this practice had already been "SOP" for Bibles in the English language for two and a quarter centuries.

One may rightly note that Dr. John Wycliffe and his associates, wanted nothing more than to reform the Roman Catholic church, plus give the Bible in the vernacular language of the English speaking people. LIkewise, Erasmus never left the 'Roman' church, as well.

However, that is absolutely not true of such as William Tyndale, Miles Coverdale, John Rogers, (I don't know about William Taverner), the rest of the leading translators and supporters of the GRT, including Cranmer and Cromwell, the leaders of the BIS, including the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Matthew Parker and Dr. Giles Lawrence, and especially the strong Calvinists, Dr. John Calvin, Theodore Beza, and William Whittingham, who gave us the GEN. These were all fully opposed to the Roman Church, herself, in any fashion. Yet each and every one of their 'complete' Bibles contained the Apocrypha. The fact that you or I do not believe the Apocrypha to be inspired Scripture, has nothing to do with this historical fact.
Uh- aren't you missing a few others, both Bibles and individuals, you can impugn, here?

FTR, I am no fan of several of the above named Bible versions (or the textual form advocated by the W/H), but this is bordering on the ridiculous.
You forgot to mention Bible Schools and Bible Colleges, in your above 'smear'.

I'm sure this was merely an oversight on your part, however
. [Rolleyes 'smiley' is here deleted, in order to print.]
'Bible Editing' is OK for Erasmus, Dr. Paris, and Dr. Blaney, apparently. Just not for any other.

Do I 'sound' a bit sarcastic, at times in this post, maybe? Sorry! It's only because I can use no more of the permitted "rolleyes" "smileys" images.
    ["SIGH!"]

The 'copyright' falsehood has been refuted several times on this board, by several individuals already. in my two and a half years here on the Baptist Board. I'll not waste any more time in so doing, yet one more time.

The ignorant wallow in ignorance, repeating lies and attacking good translations of God's Word. Can't stop 'em. :BangHead:
