President Donald Trump is reshuffling the US National Security Council (NSC), downgrading the military chiefs of staff and giving a regular seat to his chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Mr Bannon, formerly the head of the populist right-wing, Breitbart News website, will join high-level discussions about national security.

The order was signed on Saturday.

The director of national intelligence and the joint chiefs will attend when discussions pertain to their areas.

Under previous administrations, the director and joint chiefs attended all meetings of the NSC's inner circle, the principals' committee.

Excluding the DNI from any such meetings makes absolutely no sense.

This decision is moronic.

I may be wrong about this, but I understand that George Bush forbade Karl Rove from attending meetings dealing with national security. The reason was that he did not want a political influence of decisions that put peoples' lives at risk.

Donald Trump might do well by this example.

I quote a news piece by BBC News and I get a FUNNY rating from Carpro.

In fact, I get FUNNY ratings from Carpro on a lot of stuff that's just copy-and-paste articles.

Go figure.

Of course you do. Always consider the source.

I'm laughing at your hateful obsession with Trump. Carryovers from losing an election. Poor guy.

Please show me the hate in my post. I posted a news article with no commentary whatsoever. You interpret that as hate. A historical event occurred and you interpret that as I am showing hate by mentioning it.
