I did this over for Natters....it looked like an interesting poll. He said someone else could do it for him if they wanted to.

Thanks for attempting! I've never even made a poll, so I'm not even going to try.

I looked at the poll and have to say I own a number of cult materials because I have taught about cults. I don't own any 'artifacts' regarding the occult or demonism/satanism, but I have tons of stuff on mythologies, which some consider the same!

I couldn't vote because there was just one choice in each category. I own everything under the occult question because I use it in my ministry. I also own a lot of New Age books and materials. So I couldn't do the poll.

    Me, too, Helen.

I have a Book of Mormon, because I taught a class on the cult of Mormonism once. But to possess an item doesn't mean that you adhere to the philosphy/religion behind it.

I have my grandfather's rosary from his boyhood days. He became a Christian as an adult and I didn't even know that had a rosary until after he died.

I kept it just because it was his.

I was thinking about redoing this poll, but I would probably have put in too many more answers and more choices, and perhaps another question about items you own that you consider simply arts or tokens, but others may say they are heretical or satanic and must be gotten rid of.

Anyway, I do have a few of the things listed. I still have a little book by Jehovah's Witnesses which I got when I was about 15 and knew nothing about them; and I used to pick up a copy of their Awake! magazine years ago when I went to the laundry and copies were left there-- I say that so the answer option, stated in the plural, would be true ;) . I think I still have some rosary beads which were given me by our Bible study department as a prop once; I played a priest in a 'murder mystery' presentation, and as priest I knew the confessions of most of the suspects. And I never told anyone's confessions, of course, but I did react with raised eyebrows or jittery hands when one of them lied [IMG] . And then I have some Indian items, including a 'dream catcher' and sand paintings with figures which at least suggest tribal religious beliefs. To me, these things are just souvenirs.

Helpfull tip (I hope), Highlight and bookmark
Alma 7:10. Have it handy for when the LDS missionaries come a knocking. Compare with Micah 5:2 in the Bible.

It will keep them busy at your door for hours. Dont accept the first two obviously false excuses they will give. 1. Bethlehem is not in Jerusalem
    2. It is not close enough, not for a suposedly inspired book.

The third answer I got was, " Well your hung up on docturin, dont worry about things like that".
 I tried to explain why accuracy was important in prophacy.
