I am sad to report that the church I pastor at is deciding to have a vote on whether or not to kick me out. I am under heavy persecution for preaching the absolute truth of the gospel. I was even yelled at by a couple of members and called names. Even the ones that are persecuting me state he does preach the truth, but they are always hard messages and never uplifting ones.

I am not asking you to judge me or the church. My primary concern now is prayer for those that are obviously lost at God's church. Please pray for them as I still do love each and everyone of them. Please pray God will open up a new church for me. Pray for my family that God will get them through this as they have seen their Dad and husband yelled at, cursed at, and flat out stepped on.

    Thanks for your prayers..

    Your down brother in Christ.

sir, Im so sorry to hear this! I will most certainly be praying for God's will to be done.

Perhaps He would change hearts and you can stay?
I'll pray for your family too. My preacher went through something like this several years ago. God took him through it, too.

2 Timothy 4:1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

I will keep you in my prayers. We never know what the devil is at work doing, even in the lives of those who are a part of our church. It is sad that in the body of Christ a pastor has to worry about which one of his people have a knife in his back. THis is happening far too often and could happen to any pastor, because the devil hates the Lord's church. Be blessed brother and know that even though men may be against you, God has not forgotten you.

faithtrustbelief: Be sure there is life after doormatitis, not that it helps when you in it. Christians can be just as bitter and spiteful as they can be loving and comforting. James 3.10

Many forget that last phrase "these things ought not so to be" Seems they forget the Spirit when they get their feelings pumped up.

Trust the Lord irons things out soon.

samplewow: Many start school late in life and many I've talked to found the first semester terrible, next one not so bad, and after that somewhat tolerable - well better than tolerable, actually kind of fun :)

My first semester netted a "c" or two and some "ds" It should get better [IMG]

Will be praying for both of you.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I will pray for your wisdom in this matter and the conviction of the Holy Spirit in those that can't hear God's full Word preached. John 12:48

I've had "sorry" churches, too!! One church I had back in '93---a fella calls me into my office(you're always in trouble when anyone "calls" you into your own office)---anyway--he says

"Preacher! With the exception of 2 or 3 people in this church---everybody else hates you!!"

They were gonna fire me---and I knew it---so I robbed them of their glory!!! I resigned---no place to go---no income---but it was the happiest time of my life--the day I resigned!! I stayed without a church pastorate for 6 months--but I never missed a Sunday or a Wednesday of preaching somewhere!!!

Bless God---you can tell yourself "this too shall pass"----and then think about your options---you can either let them fire you---or you can rob them of their glory!!! But the Lord God will bless ya!! Wait and see!!!

Do you think I should resign before the vote, or do you think I should go ahead and stay for the vote?

If you are being dismissed unjustly and not biblically, I would not resign. The church that my father is a deacon at is going through the same thing. Some people don't like the way the pastor dresses, talks, and reads. They don't like the fact he doesn't stand behind a pulpit, but moves around. They don't like that he preaches from the NIV (they are not IFB). All superficial, legalistic things. He is not going to resign, and the people who are causing the problems are leaving slowly.

Stick it out brother! God uses everything to build His church. It's happening for a reason.
