Never ending discussion-Part 9

Abby - my wife would say that I burn the candle at both ends.

I rise at 5:00 AM - I go to bed at 11:00 PM - so I don't get enough sleep.

I work a secular job - 40 hours per week - plus I usually work all the overtime I can get my hands on. (this doesn't count travel time to and from the job.)

I pastor a church - I teach a Sunday School class - I assist with senior youth.

I'm a member of a stamp club and I publish the newsletter for the club.

I work on the house - when I have time. I work in the garden and mow the lawn - whether or not I have time.

I spend a couple of hours on BB mosts nights.

I run over and help my mother quite often.

*********
I'm not trying to brag about all I do - I trying to illustrate what burning the candle at both ends is.

Simply stated - it's when you try to do to much - or everything - when you don't have the time to do it. Sooner or later it catches up with you - and you either die - get sick - get run down - have a nervous breakdown - or you just tough it out like me - cause most of the time - if I don't do it - it don't get done.

Does this make any sense to you?

Yes! I'm afraid I tend to take things literaly. When I saw that post, the first thing that popped into my mind was somone trying to ligt a candel on both ends!

Does anyone else "burn the candle at both ends?" NOT LITERALY LIKE I THOUGHT!

Abby, there's a line in a song that I think was written with you in mind:

She's a young thing, and cannot leave her mother.

As you get older - maybe as old as Sherrie (24 on the 26th) - then you'll Begin to understand some of these tough things.

Until then - continue to be a little naive - there's nothing wrong with it - in fact it refreshing to find a young person who has not yet been educated in the wiles of the world.

God bless you young lady,
In Christ,
Dan Todd - Kelly's dad!!!

For the rest of you out there in BB land - someone answer Abby's question:

Does anyone else "burn the candle at both ends?" NOT LITERALY LIKE I THOUGHT!

Yabba Dabba Do Ya! I work Foultime at the cable co. and bi-vo music at my church. And then there's those kids. Oh yeah, I spend time with mine as well.

Do anyone have too much time on their hands?

Abby, enjoy being at home because as a wife and mother I would say yes I do take on more than I should and try burning the candle at both ends. I would say there are not to many parents that don't take on more than they can sometimes handle but we do it anyway.

Do you use Sunday as a day of rest or do you have to work?

Does my SS class count as work? It does to me!

Eventually, yeah, I want kids.. maybe.. I change my mind every time I watch my nephew!

Why do you rent your kids out?

To give people who want kids because they think they're so cute an opportunity to get a close look at the real side of parenting. Plus they work hard and have strong teeth.

Do you maintain your yard?

Audrey

Of course! If I didn't, no one would be able to see my roses!

Do you have any broken-down vehicles in your yard?

Talk about skipping posts - I answered Gibs post about maintaining lawns.

I think I do - but I'm not sure that the
neighbors think I do.

Yes I grow a garden!!!

Push, self propelled, or riding lawnmower?

Audrey

Riding.. even though I pay someone else to mow my lawn! :D

Who in your family usually mows the lawn?

Somewhere other than here?

If a man speaks alone in the woods, and there isn't a woman around to hear, is he still wrong?
