    All the phrases in the NKJV are pretty simple and very easy to understand. Most of those words are still used quite frequently. Perhaps the problem is not with the translation, but the intelligence of the reader.

    Acts 8:2 stands out to me, because we really don't use the word "lamentation" in our current vernacular.

    The NLT is obviously "gender inclusive," which makes sense, given its translation philosophy, and "target audience," so to speak.

    Yeah, I tend to shy away from the gender exclusive translations.

    A question can be asked, why did God give His word in a gender exclusive way? Like it was not important?

    Although I'm not particularly fond of gender inclusive language (in the context of Bible translations) I can certainly understand why "updated" Bible translations are moving in that direction.

    I find Hebrews 1:3 to be particularly helpful, because "word of his power" is not easily understood.
