Apologist, prolific author, and theology professor Norman Geisler has passed away at age 86, about two months after he retired from Southern Evangelical Seminary over undisclosed health issues.

The Norman Geisler Ministry Page on Facebook announced Monday that he died peacefully earlier that morning, twenty days shy of his 87th birthday.

“He has left behind an amazing legacy that will continue to have a ripple effect for many years to come,” they stated.“We will be sending you further details today as to where the funeral will be and it will be open to the public.”

Early on in my studies of soteriology I read him a lot as I waded through theories of compatibilism and soft determinism. He was a good thinker...

He was very good at boiling theology down for new believers. He wasn't my favorite theologian, but sorry to see him go, nonetheless. Had no idea he was that old.

First heard of him about 30 years ago when he filled in for Walter Martin on the radio. He recently did short clips on TV. He was a good theologian. That generation born and raised during the Great Depression is called the gray generation or the silent generation as far as I know. They are frequently reliable people.
