The NRA is not going anywhere, they have been in Washington for a long time and know how to play the game. Some house cleaning is in order, and the resignation of Executive VP Wayne Lapierre my fondest hope.

We need to remove Wayne and about three quarters of the board of directors.

It need not fall, just reduce it to a pale shadow of its former self

I'm going to rain on your parade. But, there are other defenders of the 2A waiting in the wings to fill any vacuum the NRA leaves. Such as the GOA (Gun Owners of America.)

Wayne must go. I have told them I won't renew membership until Wayne is fired. I have been a member almost 40 years.

From the looks of today's WSJ, the ice Uncle Wayne is skating on is getting thinner and thinner.

Actually not. This is a political move by the NRA to get away from NY because the NY Attorney General filed suit in August to dissolve them.

The National Rifle Association filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Texas on Friday as its current home, New York, pursues a fraud case against the organization.

The NRA was founded in New York in 1871 and has since presented itself as a defender of Second Amendment rights. The NRA attributes the move to Texas to a "corrupt political and regulatory environment" in New York.

New York Attorney General Letitia James filed suit to have the NRA dissolved in August. She accused CEO Wayne LaPierre and other senior staff with diverting millions of the nonprofit group's dollars to luxury vacations, private jets and more. James called for the funds to be returned and the executives to be prohibited from serving on any not-for-profit in New York ever again.
