Obama aide Volcker: VAT, "carbon tax" may be needed

The United States should consider raising taxes to help bring deficits under control and may need to consider a European-style value-added tax, White House adviser Paul Volcker said on Tuesday.

Volcker, answering a question from the audience at a New York Historical Society event, said the value-added tax "was not as toxic an idea" as it has been in the past and also said a carbon or other energy-related tax may become necessary.

These buffoons won't be happy until they confiscate every last shred of the property of free Americans.

This example illustrates one of the most overlooked traits to be considered in voting for a president: "How good of a judge of character are they? What kind of advisers do they surround themselves with?" Even one of minimal intelligence can see that Obama has surrounded himself with people that do not value freedom...that seemingly enjoy confiscatory policy and taxation...that punish acheivement (and acheivers)...and whose lust for power seems largely unbounded.

Is there any question where this freedom-averse, one-man country-wrecker is taking us?

would that be the deficit that obama has raised more rapidly then any other president, the same deficit he told us bef ore the election he was going to raise? so now they want to raise taxes to pay the deficit, knew that was the plan all along.
