Accuracy in Media editor Cliff Kincaid said that coverage of the Obama campaign's fierce attack on Jerome Corsi's book, The Obama Nation, misses the point that the campaign has finally acknowledged that the mysterious "Frank" in Obama's 1995 book, Dreams From My Father, is in fact the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) member Frank Marshall Davis.

"This identification by AIM and others hasn't been disputed by the media, which has desperately tried to ignore the Obama-Davis relationship, but the Obama campaign has not responded to it until now," Kincaid writes in a new column posted at www.aim.org.

Kincaid wrote that, "The admission that Obama's mentor was Frank Marshall Davis, an identified CPUSA member, can only add to growing public concern about Obama's relationship with a Communist pawn of Moscow who was the subject of security investigations by the FBI and various congressional committees which examined Soviet activities in the U.S."

What in the world are you talking about "fishing"? Do you not care that BHO was mentored by a member of the communist party?

What do you mean, what do I mean. Revmitchell is scanning the web looking for articles which criticize Obama on any and all issues.

Having posted articles about Obama and doing what you have said are two different things. The first is clear and obvious. The latter is your assumption. Good luck with that. Of course if you want to deflect the focus off of Obama's marxist background such posts may have some effect.

One doesn't exactly have to "scan the web" to find out that a best selling book has it's facts right about Obama.

If it weren,t for the propensity of the corrupt old media to hide the facts about Obama, it wouldn't be necessary at all.

    To Set The Record Straight

How Swift Boat Veterans, POWs and the
    New Media Defeated John Kerry
by Scott Swett and Tim Ziegler

Sen. John Kerry's 2004 presidential bid became the catalyst for an unprecedented political movement by Vietnam veterans who had long resented his false 1971 testimony that American troops routinely committed war crimes.

Despite the best efforts of the Democratic Party and its old media affiliates, they succeeded in reaching out to the public and turning the presidential campaign upside down.

Here, for the first time, is the complete story
of how - and why - they did it.

Praise for To Set The Record Straight:
"...scrupulously documents the most dramatic story of the 2004 campaign." - Power Line.

"...a remarkable and painstakingly notated historical account of the cultural war that coursed beneath the 2004 presidential election." - Human Events.

"...brilliantly and accurately shows how the patriotic and courageous Swiftboaters told the truth about John Kerry when the mainstream media wouldn't." - B.G. Burkett, author: Stolen Valor: How the Vietnam Generation was Robbed of its Heroes and its History.

"Anyone who truly wants to go behind the scenes of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth will have to start with 'To Set The Record Straight'." - Capt. George Elliott, USN (ret.), John Kerry's former commanding officer in Vietnam.
"Outstanding." - John O'Neill, lead spokesman, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, author: Unfit For Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry.
    ----------
Learn the truth about the "Swift boating" of John Kerry by veterans during the 2004 presidential campaign

During the Vietnam War, the original television networks and the leading liberal newspapers were near the peak of their formidable persuasive powers, able to dominate public opinion to an extent difficult to imagine today. In an age without cable news networks, conservative talk radio or the Internet, they were the only game in town. What these organizations chose to cover became news, and what they ignored did not. They used that power to instill Kerry's false portrait of American veterans as misfits, drug addicts and baby killers into the popular culture.

When John Kerry made his service in Vietnam the cornerstone of his presidential campaign during the 2004 election, the wounds he had inflicted on millions of Vietnam veterans were re-opened. Many could no longer be silent while a man who had repeated the propaganda of America's enemies rose to the position of Commander-in-Chief.

Kerry and his advisors believed that their old media allies would suppress any challenge to their version of what Kerry had done in Vietnam and during his time in the antiwar movement. It didn't work out that way.

    ----------

To Set the Record Straight is the inside story of how an ad hoc collection of veterans and activists overcame their opponents' efforts to silence and marginalize them, and delivered the explosive truth about John Kerry's past to the public. It is a story of justice and vindication long delayed, of an insurgent assault on the old media by a new wave of online reporters, and of the long struggle of America's Vietnam veterans to finally make their way home.

Who cares what Revm is doing or not doing(which is not the subject of this thread), how about answering my other question (which is the subject of this thread); Do you not care that BHO was mentored by a member of the communist party?

Making an ad hominem circumstantial attack against the author of the information is an informal fallacy. It invalidates the entire argument (defending BHO) you are trying to make.

When you start paying my bills, then you can tell me what to care about. As far as Obama being, as you say, mentored by a member of the communist party, no it doesn't matter one bit.

Some years ago I worked with a gentleman who's god was communism. He admitted it. He told me that the masses are his god. He and his wife lived well under what they could because he gave a bit to the a Communist Party. I was a friend of this man, as was many others in the shop. However, I don't think anyone believed the way this man did, but he was still treated well by everyone in the place. Apply this situation, it should answer your question.

    From your source:

"A debater commits the Ad Hominem Fallacy when he introduces irrelevant personal premisses about his opponent. Such red herrings may successfully distract the opponent or the audience from the topic of the debate. "

I believe that was, in fact, the purpose of the post.

    VOIGHT: My concerns for America
Obama sowing socialist seeds in young people
    Monday, July 28, 2008

    OP-ED

We, as parents, are well aware of the importance of our teachers who teach and program our children. We also know how important it is for our children to play with good-thinking children growing up.

Sen. Barack Obama has grown up with the teaching of very angry, militant white and black people: the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, William Ayers and Rev. Michael Pfleger. We cannot say we are not affected by teachers who are militant and angry. We know too well that we become like them, and Mr. Obama will run this country in their mindset.

The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.

    Circumstantial?

John O'Neill is not a man of integrity. That is a fact. He is nothing more than a character assassin who has been after John Kerry for years. Do you know how many of those SwiftBoat Vets actually served with Kerry. At first he claimed that this wasn't politically motivated, which of course was a lie. Then he ventured away from a safe haven on FoxNews and went on MSNBC, where Lawrence O'Donnell called him exactly what he was: a liar.

    http://mediamatters.org/items/200711090008[From last year]

Plain and simple, John O'Neill is a liar.

I have a copy of the book that was published about Kerry: Unfit for Command. Corsi is listed as a co-author.

Again, a great deal can be ascertained by the company you keep........

    Regards, hope all is well,
    BiR

Nursing a mad over Kerry's well deserved defeat for so long is mentally unhealthy.

    Try to get over it.

Citing a shill for the democrat party as a source is intellectually dishonest as well.

To once again usurp Sean Hannity, you have proven that you cannot compete in the arena of ideas, carpro. MMFA is not a shill for the Democratic Party (are you sure you don't listen to Rush Limbaugh? You certainly do reproduce many of his talking points and catch phrases), and this is untrue regardless of how many times it is claimed.

Besides, if you can disprove what they have published, then by all means give us the evidence you have. It's time to step up to the plate and be a man, carpro. If you have the evidence, it shouldn't be that hard.

Media matters is a shill for the democrat party.

Your denial is on par with your obsession over Kerry's well deserved defeat.

"We are certainly better prepared and more focused on, you know, taking our arguments, and making them effective, and disseminating them widely, and really putting together a network, uh, in the blogosphere, in a lot of the new progressive infrastructure, institutions that I helped to start and support like Media Matters and Center for American Progress. You are wrong, carpro. You can say it all you want, but you are still wrong. MediaMatters takes everyone to task, even the so-called liberal media.

Here they are taking on the New York Times:
    http://mediamatters.org/items/200808180005

    The Associated Press:
    http://mediamatters.org/items/200808190004

    CNN:
    http://mediamatters.org/items/200808140007

Don't forget that David Brock, the person who created MediaMatters, is a former Republican character assassin, who even wrote a book about Hillary Clinton.

I guess you believe EVERYTHING Hillary says, like that story of the plane landing under fire.

It's funny, because you are once again reproducing a talking point from Rush Limbaugh's program. He has gone to that very quote on more than one occasion. I am sure it is merely coincidental though, as you never really have admitted to listening to him. As a matter of fact, you seemingly avoid that subject altogether.

    Hmmmmm......

And you conveniently avoided my direct challenge to you. Here it is again:

Yes, circumstantial. A fallicious ad hominem (personal attack) against the author of the book Omama Nation, was made seeking to refute the positions espoused in the book by pointing out an irrelivent circumstance regarding the person of the author. It attacks the man rather than attempting to disprove or refute his position and the documentation/information he provided in his book.

Um... John O'Neill has nothing to do with the current discussion of BHO and the fact that he admittedly was mentored by a member of the Communist Party. Why bring up this red herring (another informal fallacy)?

BTW, if Unfit for Command is so full of lies why hasn't John Kerry bothered to take the authors to court seeking damages, to clear his name, and set the record aright? Did you bother to research the references provided in the book to see if they were correct? Or did you just take Media Matters word for it?
