Obama files to repeal DOMA

    Even if I allow for double standards some of the time, for discussion sake, I would say not in this case. You can't seek to defend the "foundation of civil society" with a government mandate on the one hand and yet stop healthcare that would dramatically increase help to these "foundational families" on the other. Enlighten me please if you think it can be done.

    And who is without healthcare in America today, under this awful system?

    I live in a poor county in Pennsylvania. I was at the hospital yesterday.

    Not ONE person was standing in line hoping to get in.

    Not one.

    Don't be thick, emergency care is not the same nor as beneficial or as cheap as regular, routine healthcare.

    Well, what are we talking about, then?

    The supposed "Crisis" is that people don't have some level of health insurance.

    That's not the same as "access to medical care."

    Even though the alarmists would make it seem the same.

    Reforms would (or at least should) bring routine, regular healthcare to people who don't have it right now. Done debating healthcare on a thread about DOMA
