Yes, the H1N1a is an epidemic, and yes, it's pandemic, but the common seasonal flu we get every year is likewise epidemic and pandemic, and in the US alone, the deaths are anywhere between 30,000 and 50,000 annually, which is small compared to the millions who contract it annually. Death isn't usually the prime concern. It's the affects of the illness, while one is fighting it. H1N1a is demonstrating to be slightly milder in symptoms than the common seasonal flu, but the death rate is roughly the same.I'm not sure that this "Swine Flu" epidemic is as bad as the Obama administration is saying.
They are very effective. Study after study after study consistently shows that the annual seasonal flu shot reduces the chances of contracting the flu by roughly 80% or more.As far as Flu shots are concerned. I have not found them to be very effective at all. Just more money for the pharmaceutical industry.
