Obama Praises Islam as 'Great Religion'

A POTUS is POTUS to all in the country, not just people of my faith. I neither care for nor abhor the POTUS's comments. Neither did I care when GW Bush did the same. I do, however, have Muslim neighbors, who are as American as the next person, and whose commitment to justice and progress are as solid as any other American's.

Obama's comments once again demonstrate how utterly lost he is. He quotes Muhammad Ali:

Mr. Obama also noted the contributions of Muhammad Ali, who was not in attendance, though the president borrowed a quote from famous boxer, explaining religion.

"A few years ago," Mr. Obama said, "he explained this view - and this is part of why he's The Greatest - saying, 'Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams - they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do - they all contain truths."'

Islam does not contain truth. Hinduism does not contain truth. They are false and Obama will spend an eternity in hell with the people of those religions and everyone else that believes that all religions are different ways to obtain the same goal.

Not to argue (I honestly don't know the answer to this), but where else has Obama praised Islam?

April 5 when speaking of a Palestinian State and April 17 while visiting Turkey or at least those are the report dates.

He is trying to unite faiths together...you know the old song"we are the world". Guess he should read John 14:6 and ask God to remove the veil. :jesus:

Islam may be a "great" religion in terms of the number of professed adherents but there is only one way to God and that is through the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe in his speech at a university in Egypt he went all out for Islam. Believe he referred to the United States as a Muslim country. I am sure that if I am incorrect some of the Obama mites will forcefully correct me.

KenH, I remember reading a thread from a few years ago and you said you're a universalist. Did you change or are you using the phrase "through Christ" in the sense that all are saved by His death and ressurection even if they don't know it?

No one is saved without repentance toward God and faith in Christ Jesus (Acts 20:21). Period.
