You just have to wonder, did the folks with their undies in a knot over President Obama's speech to school students were equally upset when Ronald Reagan did something similar, but with a decidedly political bent?

Reagan was not a Marxist who wanted to change the fundamental founding of this country. He did not bring in radicals like Van Jones and Immanuel to "advise" him. He did not have a history of being chummy with unrepentant terrorists, and the full blown anti-American crowd. He is a disgrace to this country and we are fortunate he will only be a one term President.

So, when it's your guy it's alright, but when it's the man you despise, it must be stopped.

Note: Reagan actually referred to taxes, which is political.

    Quite the fair question.

    The difference:
    • Reagan wasn't cap and trade, healthcare takeover, and other massive erosions of freedom and liberty. Granted...Reagan did increase the deficit...but it was to repair a weak national defense.
    • Reagan's speech didn't include a "study guide" (since withdrawn) that took it in a scary direction.
    • Obama, unlike Reagan, has some sycophants in place (how many..we simply don't know) who will take the scope of Obama's speech further than he will. Those are the folks that scare me the most.

Nothing in my post remotely close to that.

Seems to me to be a big difference, so it isn't even close to a comparision.

If President Obama doesn't talk about politics, what is the big difference?

Can you answer a simple question? Maybe you won't because you will not admit that the only problem with the president addressing school children is your dislike for President Obama.

I did answer, prehaps as usual you missed it. go read it again, you might see it this time.
where I live means nothing when it comes to beleiving the bible. prehaps it does to you.
I had no idea obama spoke in a school, and have no idea what he said. Neither did I know reagan spoke in a school or what he said.
But I know there are political differences you can not deny, this si what I said. But you didn't bother reading it.

The big difference is that President Reagan did not try to propagandize or brainwash the children by having teachers implement special lesson plans. But being an Obama mite you would not understand that.

I just know how many southerners are racist; remember 1964?

I think this about sums it up!

At least you admit that the problem you have with President Obama is that he is a Democrat.

I did not have kids in school when Reagan was president, nor when Bush 41 was in, but I do believe I would have been angry over having to take time out of my kid's day of learning to be spoken to by either one of them.

It's not because I live in the south because I don't want the socialist leader of America talking to my sons.. it's because I am an American.. .Born and bred in WV, and darn proud to stand beside the fallen heros that have fought hard and have given their lives to keep freedom in America.

It is the lilly livered, panty wasted commies that have allowed this socialist pig to enter the Whitehouse and sacrifice our freedoms on the altar of abortion, homos, and enviromental whack jobs..

the liberals believe the myth of "global warming" so much that they want to sacrifice jobs to save the planet...

Hogwash.. .God will be through with the planet when He is good and ready!

Reagan was a hero... Obama is not.
He is just a community organizer making a mess of our country..

And let me tell you this country boy will survive...
Especially when we take back the country from the ungodly.

It is about time that Americans stand and say NO to the self ordained savior of the world that lives in DC.

Reagan cared about making America a superpower..
Now that we are, your hero Obama is apologizing to the world for it..

Bring on 2012... Time to take out the trash!
