The Japanese guhment did stimulus after stimulus and ended up in a 10 year recession.

Our government is deficit spending at a horrible rate.

It is as if they said "you know, the bank account is empty, but we can just keep on writing checks because we have a stack of them."

What will happen when the Chinese stop buying our treasury bills?

while this is one of the smartest moves he has made ( out of a total of two) it is politically expedient as the country would not stomach more deficit spending.

The President says the first package must be given time to work before throwing more money into the still ailing US economy. More HERE.

Does he really believe this...or is this simply an admission that a 2nd stimulus doesn't have a snowball's chance in Dothan, AL (hey...it's almost that hot there :D ).

Either way...I'm glad.

What stimulus?

Our government has already paid off all who master-minded this financial implosion protecting them somewhat against the inflation which is to come which will certainly finish off much of the middle class. The political partners who either sheltered the news, helped to orchestrate the election and these expenditures, or financed and insured the last election, are now either paid off or placed in some cushy position (I hear there's now 32 'czars! appointed)........ so who cares about us? The banks were the first to receive the infusion of monies...... and we were promised it was so they'd have money to lend..... and be in a better position to renegotiate or prevent some foreclosures: How many have been helped? Maybe one. But the Federal Reserve is now paying the banks interest to deposit their monies safely there......which serves to dry up cash available for loans....which means that even the solvent and desserving are having difficulties and costly delays when in need of credit..... which means our economy .......based as it is upon money to purchase resources to feed industry to employ people who have needs who will buy the production and venture into supportive services, all of which keeps the circle turning..... has dried up.

Why do WE need a stimulus or a bailout..... when we did nothing to stop the first ones and let them pass based on promises without much more than a whimper? It is no longer our government: It is 'their' government .......who ever it is pulling these hijinks from the American people, amassing their own fortunes at our expense, and adding policing to the military to secure their own control over a people becoming marginalized from the government who was supposed to serve them instead of using them! I think all of this is designed to encourage and forment 'revolution', which, may God forbid, would just speed their force and hold upon the populace and give further rise to a depostic rule.

Ike's warnings about the Military-Industrial Complex have proven true. You are right...we just supply the funding to run the ship...and what they don't realize is that by killing the middle class, it killed the goose that laid the proverbial golden egg.
