Obama Sends Troops to Secure Border

In that the Obama administration refuses to deport any illegal immigrants when apprehended in Arizona, I can only conclude that this is nothing more than symbolism.

Window dressing.

Too few to accomplish anything, but enough for the liar in chief to say he did something about illegal immigration.

Meanwhile he continues to direct his efforts towards amnesty and citizenship for illegals.

Being realistic this is a good thing however shallow it may be.

Read the posts and you will easily see that President Obama cannot do anything that will satisfy these extreme right-wingers.

Yep, absolutely nothing will satisfy the connies. This reminds me of when Bart Stupak got a huge concession on abortion in the healthcare law and the Right thanked him by calling him a baby killer. It's sad to see the Republican Party continue to marginalize itself by becoming more and more extreme instead of being a viable opposition party.

Good for Obama. Now...increase by a factor of fifty, and maybe we'll get somewhere.

I'll say this...it's more than Bush ever did.

You just gotta love this sentence in the OP article...

"The Mexican Embassy said Tuesday it hoped the National Guard troops would be used to fight drug cartels and not enforce immigration laws. Mexico has traditionally objected to the use of military forces to control undocumented migration, saying such measures would criminalize migrants and open the way for potential abuse."

Heaven forbid that the U.S should enforce immigration laws or criminalize illegal immigrants !!

President Obama has ordered 1,200 National Guard troops to be deployed along the US-Mexico border to help secure our southern frontier.

Actually, the 1200 troops (spread out over four states, by the way) are going to be doing mostly administrative duties, not actually patrolling the border.

In other words, Mao-Bama is making an empty gesture, hoping to satisfy those who aren't paying attention.

Sure he can.

1. Fire the idiot who said they're not going to prosecute border criminals captured in Arizona

2. Enforce federal laws

3. Stop criticizing Arizona's law when it's taken almost word for word from the same federal statutes he refuses to address

4. Stop grinning and nodding his head like some trained monkey when Calderon criticizes our laws on US soil, all the while knowing that Mexico's immigration laws are even stricter than ours, yet refusing to acknowledge that.

Well, here's a shocker:

We may be sending troops, but they won't be stopping illegal immigration.

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.0513d49acfc29bc63d3ee39de8bd3b71.dc1&show_article=1

US National Guard troops being sent to the Mexican border will be used to stem the flow of guns and drugs across the frontier and not to enforce US immigration laws, the State Department said Wednesday.

The clarification came after the Mexican government urged Washington not to use the additional troops to go after illegal immigrants.
President Barack Obama on Tuesday authorized the deployment of up to 1,200 additional troops to border areas but State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters, "It's not about immigration."
He said the move was "fully consistent with our efforts to do our part to stem, you know, violence, to interdict the flow of dangerous people and dangerous goods -- drugs, guns, people."

OK, I'm confused. We're trying to "stem, you know, interdict the flow of dangerous people and goods..."

If we're trying to stop something, then why do we deliberately let them go?

I wish our administration would get their stories straight. Fat chance.

Of course, Mexico "urged" us to not bother folks coming here illegally. And in between his bowing to foreign heads of state, Obama readily complied.

Bush's bunch was abysmal with regards to illegal immigration. Obama's crew might just be worse. National security must ba a joke to them.
