Actually you misunderstand what I am sayng. If Obama is in the whitehouse folks most likely are not going to change candiates of the same party. If McCain is in the whte house Clinton is not forced to run agaisnt an incumbant of the same party.

I see that you will be program host to Bluegrass Music real soon. That and folk music is good music. I can get Bluegrass 24hrs.a day off the cable and sure enjoy it. Use to even play bluegrass music myself.

LOL, you think the Clintons care about failed policies or the state of our nation.

The Clintons care about one thing and one thing only, amassing power for themselves. They would gladly destroy our country as long as they got to rule whatever was left.

Ain't that the truth. Bill Clinton lucked out economy-wise by being president through the dot.com boom, which happened to be going bust just as Bush came into office.

Sad fact of the matter is- Presidents really don't have a lot to do with the economy. Congress does. We need to elect better Senators and Representatives. But that's another thread.

Your right on there. The Newt led republican revolution congress had our economy going great in the 90s, but Bill got all the credit. The current do nothing Pelosi congress has us stagnant, but George gets the blame. Does not make good sense to me that the American people can't see this.

Baloney. She isn't claiming to be able to hold back the rising oceans. Obama has, and anyone who doubts it is hateful. The idolization is Obama's.

Baloney with cheese! At the rate the Palin admirers are going, she will have a religion named after her. In the end though, if elected I think the U.S. electorate will tire of her soon enough.

You must admit that the Obama admiration ran pretty high for a while though.

Along with his admiration of himself - We are the ones that we have been waiting for.

Yesterday he said that he is glad that Bush has taken his advice and is pulling troops out of Iraq. As though it had nothing to do with the improved situation in Iraq.

    The whole convention temple thing.

Just a bunch of patting himself on the back and singing his own praises and then bang - the air was gone.

Here in Michigan we just went through the same thing with the Mayor of Detroit. The guy was literally a criminal. After pleading guilty to two felonies, losing his law license, receiving a 120 day jail sentence, a million dollar fine, and barred from holding any public office for a period of five years - he held a press conference to list his accomplishments and to tell everyone that he would be back.

After all his talents are just too much for us to do without!!

It was nothing compared to Palin, Idolization of Palin is on a level of it's own.

This is no different than McCain making it known he was right about the troop surge. Why a different standard between Obama and McCain?

Is this a racist view to compare Obama to your low life mayor? Why did you put these two in a comparison? Obama is nothing like you old mayor.

Subjective opinon at best. How are you measuring the idolization level?

There is a great difference. McCain supported the troop surge which resulted in the improved conditions. Obama now wants to take credit for any troops that will be returning from Iraq - as though he convinced Bush to bring troops home now - and that the troop draw down will be unrelated to conditions on the ground.

No racism here at all. I'm just pointing out the when Kilpatrick came into office as Mayor he was pretty much idolized by his supporters. Even after all of the shady stuff in his first term he was reelected. He spoke about his many accomplishements that existed in his mind only. He talked about his immeasurable value to the City of Detroit. But in the end he did little more than put his family and freinds on the city payroll. His constant self puffing reminds me of Obama and his claim that "We are the ones that we have been waiting for."

BTW - I attended highschool in the inner city of Detroit for three years - don't be so sure that you know all that much about me or my background to presume to suggest that I am racist.

What will matter is the debates. That and the condition of world events and the state of the economy between now and November.

Unfortunately, this is so. Instead of voting on character, the majority of voters will vote on 'fluff' instead.

I said it once and I'll say it again- the state of the economy has zip, zero, and zilch to do with who sits in the oval office. It's the bozos (US!) who elect the Prima Donnas in Congress, who keep printing worthless money (by passing 'pork' bills) and making worthless promises that really influences the economy.

We have met the enemy and he is US.

No there's a difference. They say Obama is a STAR because of his Charisma.
But Sarah is a STAR because of her strong Convictions Morals and Her already accomplishments in Her state of Alaska.:godisgood:

When a large number of Americans who initially were not going to vote or had no enthusiasm suddenly get all fired up just because she is added to the ticket. This is days in to hearing her name the first time and far before they heard her views or commitment to their lives as VP.

I heard an interview with Joe Bageant on an Irish talk show yesterday, he is the author of a book titled - "Deer Hunting With Jesus."

Bageant is a self confessed redneck from Winchester, VA. He is also a political liberal who is supporting Obama. If he is right, than the addition of Palin is indeed cause for Obama to be shaking in his boots. He wrote the book long before Gov Palin was chosen for the ticket, but the interview I heard yesterday was in light of her choice.

Liberal as he is I think he has a point. Rednecks elect presidents - and rednecks are going to vote for guns, God, and American glory no matter what it does to them personally. Rednecks don't vote for the economy because so many of them don't have money anyway.

An article on his website says that Democrats need to learn to speak "redneck" if they want to be elected. Could he be right?

I am not, by ANY means endorsing Bageant, or his book. I only heard him interviewed by a talk show host that is liberal even by Irish standards. But his theory intrigues me.

funny, Brit Hume said today that the economic index rose 2 months in a row. He commented that Obama couldn't use that for a weapon.
