Obama Talks About The Economy In Charlotte

Democratic Presidential Candidate Speaks In N.C.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Sen. Barack Obama visited North Carolina on Sunday, speaking to supporters at a rally in downtown Charlotte.

Right out of the gate, Obama started talking about the issue that's been on everyone's mind this week: the economy.

The Democratic candidate for president took the stage to talk about change in the middle of the country's most serious financial crisis in decades.

"They said they wanted to let the markets run free, but instead they let it run wild," Obama said.

Just as he had done before last week, he pinned the blame for the troubled economy on the philosophy of his opponent, Sen. John McCain.

"Because, while I certainly don't fault Senator McCain for all of the problems we're facing right now, I do fault the economic philosophy he's followed during his 26 years in Washington."

Obama's solution to the troubles on Wall Street includes more regulations from Capitol Hill.

"They have run this economy into the ground," Obama said.
