The Olympics is not just for the US.

And I think it would be nice for SA to finally get the Olympics. Besides, can you imagine the parties in RIO~!

And yes, I can't stand Chicago. With the political corruptness coming out of her, she is a scourge on America.

Choose another city in America, and I may root for it..

I have nothing against Brazil winning the Olympics. I have good friends in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil and I know they would be both excited and proud if the games are held in Rio. That being said I never wish ill on the US. If we do not win it, I hope Rio does. I expect they will.

By the way, if you think Chicago has a crime problem you should visit Rio. If you do be very, very, very careful. Yes, I've been there. Salvador, Bahai is a much safer city. And Chicago has nothing to compare with the corruption in Rio and Brazil.

Of course, Rio is a better know city internationally. Salvador is the city Brazilians like to vacation in.

As a citizen of the United States who loves his country I always root for the United States site to win an Olympic bid.

For better or worse, Chigago has somewhat of a history in putting on renowned sporting events. They hosted the FIFA World Cup in 1994 and the Pan Am Games in 1959. They have the infrastructure to host a Games. Plus, their current plan as presented by the USOC utilizes all private dollars. So the city would get a boost in infrastructure, without having it come from tax revenue.

"Listen I think it's a great idea to promote Chicago but he's the president of the United States, not the mayor of Chicago, And the problems we have here at home affect all Americans and that's where his attention ought to be."

"I would make the case in Copenhagen personally, if I weren't so firmly committed to making -- making real the promise of quality, affordable health care for every American." ---Barak Obama, Sept. 16, 2009 www.whitehouse.gov

Hey, cut the guy some slack.

Everything that Obama says comes with an expiration date.

That was two weeks ago so obviously it has passed it's "good until" date.

Okay, now you guys are just being silly. You're making it sound like Obama promised he wouldn't go to Copanhagen. That's not the case at all. On the 16th, he said he'd go if he could, and on the 28th, he decided he'd be able to make it.

There are plenty of reasons to be critical of Obama. This isn't one of them.

Again you don't get to decide which issues are reason enough to be critical for everyone else.

That fact doesn't change the fact that the post #26 and 27 are just plain silly.

Actually that is not what he said.

He said that he would go "if he weren't so firmly committed to making -- making real the promise of quality, affordable health care for every American".

So apparently what has changed is his commitment to making real the promise of quality, affordable health care for every American.

Hey, he said it - not me.

All Americans should be hoping that Chicago gets this Olympic bid. It would mean lots of job for that area of our nation.

Actually it would mean political payback for Obama's allies.

Obama's cronies will steal more than they spend if not watched very carefully. The only city in the US that was more corrupt than Chicago was New Orleans.

Was.

I wonder what the Olympics in Chicago means to the 43 families that lost their loved ones in Afghanistan since the new Commander asked for more troops and since Obama has broken his promise to give the commanders what they want. I bet they see it as important. Don't you?

Afghanistan commander General McCyrystal, interviewed on last Sunday's 60 Minutes:

"Asked how often he talks to the president, McChrystal said, "I've talked to the president since I've been here once on a VTC."
"You talked to him once in 70 days?" Martin asked.
"That's correct," McChrystal replied.""
