Is that because the Taliban and Assad are easier to negotiate with?

The President is the chief executive of the United States of America (A Nobel Peace Prize winner as well).

Whether right or wrong on either side of the issue it is his DUTY to lead by whatever means possible to solve this game of "chicken".

He has several living presidents from which to glean some wisdom.

It reminds me of a fist fight breaking out on the ice hockey rink.
Worse, some on the same team are duking it out on the sidelines.

It has already become a public disgrace before the entire world.

In my opinion of course.
