What do you guys know about shale oil? What is the cost to ready shale oil for a refineries vs building that pipeline in AK? What about drilling offshore?

IT is nasty stuff that isn't worth messing with just so people can drive SUVs.

Old story about a greenhorn who built a fireplace in his house out of oil shale. Easy rock to work with. I'd probably be as foolish.

Is it worth it to get off foreign dependency? Once we get off foreign dependency we don't have to worry about what happens in the middle east... I just hope we can do it responsibly but causing as little harm as possible to God wonderful earth and the environment.

I don't drive an SUV, but I do need gas anyway. So no, it wouldn't be just so people can drive SUV's. But cars.
