I am very saddened by the death of Obama's dearly loved grandmother. It is always hard to loose a grandparent.

I am also saddened to see the vile comments that popped up in this thread.

I just took a moment to pray for Senator Obama. He deserves our prayers on this day. Our church has set aside the past few Tuesdays as days of fasting and prayer for our country. Perhaps it is too late. Perhaps it is not. Only God knows.

Regardless, I have determined to start to obey Paul's admonition to pray for kings and for all that are in authority- on a daily basis.

No where does the Bible command us to vote but it does command us to pray.

Wouldn't this be a great thing...all of us Christians covenanting to pray for our new president, whoever he may be.

If it's Obama, sure I will be disappointed...but you're right MD, that doesn't change God's command to us.

I should spend more time praying for my leaders anyway.

Abortion wasn't the topic in this thread, although I do agree that it should be stopped.

Your comments are still very rude in the wake of a death of someone... I tried to reason that your opinion is too closely tied to politics these days but maybe it does deeper than that...

You should be sorry for the things you have said in this thread.

Donna, I concur that your comments would have been better served on another thread. They have relevance to the election...but not on a thread offering condolences to Obama on his loss.

This thread wasn't made for condolences. Read the OP again. The question was put forward whether the timing of this death will affect the election.

And yes, this is a political debate forum, not a let's-all-be-sad-for-BHO forum.

I agree... I will pray for Obama...

But I am sure someone will vote for Obama simply because they feel sorry for him this morning.

When anyone dies it is sad...

But Obama will get votes out of it.

I doubt that it will influence but a very teeny-weeny amount of voters. Most people have already made up their mind - that is - if they have one!

some christians threw that out when they voted to stab babies in the head, to approve homosexual marriage. Not things Jesus would approve of thats fro sure.
Never forget this is a debate forum, non debate topics do not belong in this forum.
