Obama's Speech on the Economy

My take ... Obama gave a good speech and laid out the problems facing us well. In doing so he has defined a huge agenda that Congress will have to address. Are they up to the job? Time will tell.

I felt Jindal's reply was a poor reply. I'll give him a bit of slack. His speech was written by his speech writers without knowing what Obama was going to say. However, they need to come up for air, look around and see what is happening in the real world. They seem to be stuck in Reagan's world, but we do not live there now, the world has changed.

Others are not so kind to Jindal:

How bad was Bobby Jindal tonight? On "Charlie Rose," David Brooks called the Louisiana Republican's remarks the worst response to a speech ever, and added--as if that wasn't clear--"That response from the most prominent Republican competition was to me an unmitigated disaster." Within an hour of the speech, a Google search for "jindal kenneth 30 rock" yielded almost 75,000 hits. Jindal's fellow travelers on Fox News used words like "sing-song" and "childish" to describe his delivery.

Yes, He laid out the problems, but we all know what the problems are. What I didnt hear alot about were the solutions. He kept saying that he has a plan but he never quite explained what his plan is.

Does he expect the country to follow him blindly through these problems? When is he going to let us in on what his actual plans are? Or, does he even actually have a plan? Perhaps he got into office and found out just how little power the president has over our free enterprise system, and that he cant really fulfill his many campaign promises.

Or perhaps he is planning to implement a socialist economic system where he does have the power to control private enterprise?????????

What I did get from the speech is that he advocates more federal government control of our banks and credit system, our energy providers, our education system, and our health care. He even wants to control the salaries and bonuses of employess of private companies.

Sounds like socialism to me.

BTW...when referring to President Obama should the "h" in "him", "he", ect be capitalized?
