Translated for UK, Australia, Ireland, etc...

Wendy's is a hamburger place, fries are chips (skinny one like McDonalds, and a frosty is almost like the soft ice cream you would get with a flake.

    Translation:

Pinto beans are available in your health food store. Cornbread is a cake-like bread made with maize meal.

There was, and may still be, a Wendy's restaurant on the Lisburn Road in Belfast/UK. I am guessing they may exist in other parts of the UK also.

I have tried the snake as well. It tasted like chicken. Of course, we were camping and didn't have a lot of options, but we did have a fella who was in culinary training and he whipped it up quick and nice like, but it didn't have much meat to go around.

I've had duck feet (Chinese dim sum). They were actually pretty good.

If any are thinking about going to Africa in the mission fields, be sure to try the 'biltong' if it is offered to you. Biltong is like our beef jerky over here, but instead of beef, they smoke and dry elephant meat or other wild animals. Although a little salty because of the preparation, it is coated with honey so it is absolutely delicious.

Note: Some African markets here in the states sell this type of jerky.

I forgot to mention I've had Gibnut in Belize. It's a big rodent. It was the meat they used in "beef" chow mein at one of the local restaurants (which was actually a garage with some tables and chairs).

The fact that it was a garage should have raised red flags.:wavey:

"Hey Joe. When yer finished with that Dodge Dart on the rack, would you mind waiting on the customer at table 5, please?"

I went to a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Switzerland once. It was the first one to open over there, and it was completely deserted. I know why...it was awful! Mushy and dripping with grease. I don't think they quite understood. And Swiss food is really good, too.

    love,

When I was in Costa Rica there was a KFC as well...

Our translator referred to it as KFP - Kentucky Fried Puppies. I never could get truth out of the reasoning for that.

Ramen are dried noodles, also known as Oodles of Noodles. They come in small squares and cook in about 3 minutes. They are high in fat, but very good with the various flavoring packets added

My favorite is Roast Chicken flavor, but Shrimp, Beef, and Oriental are also delicious.

I prefer Ramen dry, with a spritz of water over it so the powder sticks.

In the States, ramen noodles are sold in styrofoam cups with seasonings already inside. You just fill the cup with water, microwave for a couple minutes, and go! Salty, which is why they're so good! A staple of every college age kid everywhere! I like to dip crackers in them.

    love,
