You still don't get it. It has nothing to do with parties. A recent poll showed that nearly 1/3 of Tea Party members are Democrats or former Democrats.
If I can remember where I saw that, I'll post it for you.
You might also want to keep in mind that the Tea Party movement is widely credited with unseating Democrats in Va, NJ, Ma, and very nearly in New York.
I know this will cause the people that hate you Crab to be shrill but I agree with you basically the moderate Republicans are dropping out and it is delusional on the part of people that attack you , the GOP is embracing the Tea Partiers it is your opioion and mine that it is a mistake and others need to take a chill pill.
I see on YouTube and even on Fox, Republican leaders courting them , Hey! even Sarah Palin thinks they are wonderful and wants them, well she can have them.
I think they are moving more and more towards violence and all it takes is one that they cause to get so mad that they start attacking people. I think Homeland security was ahead of the curve on this but got attacked for it.
Crab I think the bottom line on this board you got some closet tea party people who are cowards to admit it , for sure they have hatred for Obama which unbecoming of Jesus Christ.

I am a proud TEA Party attender, I know of no official party affiliation. I say the cowards are the folks who refuse to engage in honest debate.
The recent violence was perpetrated by ACORN members, and SEIU thugs, and Black Panther members. And the Dems still have an ex-KKK member in their midst.

In our local chapter, it's repeated several times every meeting that we are a 501(c)(3) and, as a result, cannot endorse or accept sponsership (ie. "affiliation") with any party.
We got a letter a couple of months ago from a local politician asking us to endorse him, and while many of us may endorse him as citizens, we had to write him back and tell him that we can't endorse him as an organization.
Our Education Committee chair is considering running for sherrif in order to tackle the border criminal problem we have here, but has already stated that once he registers as a candidate, that he will step down because he knows that we can't endorse him and doesn't want to put us in an awkward situation.

Petra, let me tell you about "Cindy."
She's a cancer survivor. Her husband left her several years ago, and she's raised two kids on her own. She has watched, disturbed, at the coarsening of the culture, and she has been concerned as government has often times turned a deaf ear to the troubles facing our country.
In fact, as we talked the other evening at church, she expressed how disturbed she was that freedoms seemed to be eroding, and that the government's answer to many issues was to curtail freedoms, throw money they don't have at issues, and be dishonest with the public. Cindy has been unhappy with members of both parties.
Now that her kids are older, she's becoming involved. She's gone to a couple of rallies which would probably be described as "Tea parties." She's actively in the process--town hall meetings, reading up on issues, letters and emails, etc.
She, and thousands (tens, maybe hundreds of thousands) like her went to Washington recently (her mom, also in our church, kept the kids). She was moved by what she saw. And I remember her telling me how nice, considerate, and helpful the other attendees were.
Now...Cindy, and thousands like her: Where do you see the violence? Where do you find the hatred? Where's the bigotry?
You want to despise a group, fine. But at least do it with just cause.
There were scores of people like you in the 1960's in my neck of the woods. At the time, their object of scorn was black people. They heard about one black man/woman who did wrong...and they assigned every negative quality espoused in that person to the entire race. That's called prejudice, and it is as wrong today as it was then...no matter the target group.
I hope I've made my point.

Point is, specifics don't work with CTB. He ignores them. And if they're good specifics, he disappears.
To your credit...you stay and discuss, without assigning homework, ignoring posts, and disappearing off threads when others make salient points. Crabby doesn't.

The problem is that we've refuted him so often, and he keeps ignoring the corrections, that there is no point.
Most of us now just treat him like the fool he has made himself to be.
The problem is the article linked to is laced with profanity. Therefore it is sanctionable.

I almost did not post the OP because of the profanity in the article. The profanity was not mine nor do I approve of it. It was that of the writer, a Republican ... or perhaps a former Republican.
There is no question there are tea party people here, but won't admit it. The tea party is a collection of various groups of people who are unhappy, declare their unhappiness but never propose any real solutions. Why? Primarily because there are a diverse collection of groups who, at the bottom line, do not really agree with each other. If solutions were proposed by one group other groups would attach them.
The tea party is gradually killing the GOP, driving out moderate Republicans, driving away minority groups they need to gain national power. The GOP was already loosing young people and this will simply speed up that process.
I picked up a newspaper in the Las Vegas airport yesterday and was surprised to see how critical it was of the tea party.
I'll post an item or two from that paper when I have time.
