I'm 62, and at the rate my body is going, even if I make it to old age, I will be in too bad of shape to care. I hurt from my neck to my feet from arthritis and bursitis. I have diabetes and high blood pressure and other ailments, and so far I'm on four different medications. My eyesight and hearing are quickly fading. I have to use headphones to hear my TV, and I was told that glasses won't help my eyes despite three eye surgeries. I don't know how much longer I will be driving since I have difficulty seeing the traffic signs. However, I'm rejoicing in the Lord because my sins have been forgiven, and I'm on my way to heaven. Praise His name!

Old age is great for those with a pension and OK health.

That may be true, but it can also be the most uncomfortable when your body starts falling apart...

Old age is NOT for sissies! :)

You are correct. Other than work and home, I spend more time in doctor's offices than anywhere else!

Is age a physical state or a state of mind? I've been wondering about that from time to time. Usually my health is pretty good, and mentally I feel about 16 to 20.

    love,

I owe about $12,000-$13,000 in medical bills, and that is after my insurance paid what they consider to be their share. My pension doesn't cover all those bills (16 total) and my other expenses, and I'm too tired and sick most of the time to enjoy retirement. However, it's still better than working.
