    Total speculation.

"Tablet Theory” suggests that portions of Genesis were originally written on clay tablets by men who personally experienced the events described. The tablets were later compiled by Moses."

Moses died in the wilderness. I saw no mention of some clay tablets. It was God that wrote the tablets on the mountain.

Yep, in essence that's the theory. It's intriguing. But what you fail to mention is that all events in Genesis happened before Moses was born, in fact the latest events happened many years before he was born. So where did he get the stories?

You say God dictated it to him verse by verse. The Tablet theory suggests he got it the say way all other biblical historical narrative authors go it. So, who's speculating?

And you still haven't explained the source of your dogmatism. Why are you dogmatic about this? Just ask'n.

IF Moses did gather together and compile/edit the account from external sources, would he have not been inspiredin his final product though anyways?
There was out there the epic of Gilgemesh though, correct?

Were not the Gospels done in the same way though, external sources, witnesses, and divine revelation direct from God?

I say you do not know in any way at all. Whether it was via angels, direct communication with God (Moses was famous for that) or whether God had Mo access the hardrives of the books of heaven...we don't know.

You cannot produce one fragment of any book before Peleg! Nada. So remember to offer up your total speculations and so called theories as wild eyed maybes! NOT as fact.

Yes, and if a fed express truck delivered an audio tape via a time tunnel I suppose it would still be inspired. The thing is the poster is making certain claims...like that there were written books pre flood, and that Moses happened upon some later!!!

Would that make any real difference though?

Moses didn't happen upon anything. They were handed down from Noah.

Genesis 5:29 (KJV) And he called his name Noah, saying, This [same] shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

I find that the different nature of the past makes all the difference in the world as far as explaining why Genesis was very real.

Oh, we have already had this debate before about the book of Adam. Do you think that Adam was some sort of caveman like Fred Flintstone? Adam named all the animals--maybe you can, too, but I myself cannot. Adam talked with God in the cool of the morning. Did God talk to a caveman?
