On this date July 9, 1951: President Truman asked Congress to formally end state of war with Germany.
That was 6 years after the war ended. and it was a decisive victory. Currently in Afghanistan and Iraq we have no decisive victory, (if any victory at all) and we are loosing heart for the battle. Is this because in a "pulled punches war" there will never be any real victory? Are we tired not so much of war, as of a "Politically Correct" war, where our troops have their hands tied in so many ways?
