Ordination help

    Greetings!
    I am presently preparing for ordination as pastor with the date set for July 24th. I have a statement of faith prepared and am ready to discuss it.Can someone please give me some counsel as to what else I need to know and as I have never participated in an ordination service before.

    Great day that is my son's b-day!!! Be ready to answer anythting. I had a guy if i sped on the wat to church!!!

    I would suggest you engage in prayer that God would be glorified first and foremost. Second, pray for wisdom & grace to respond in a Christlike manner. Third, pray for patience & humility.
    Perhaps having a pre-ordination questioning done by the deacons or sunday school teachers would be helpful.

    Most ordination councils will ask detailed questions about theology - heavy duty, but we expect that and are prepared for it!

    But in addition, be prepared for questions about:
    salvation
    call to ministry
    wife/agreement to the ministry
    experience
    education
    I Tim 3 qualifications
    Baptist distinctives
    Touchy current issues =
    *divorce/remarriage
    *KJVonly
    *ecumenicism
    *separation
    *pastoral leadership style
    *politics
    *abortion
