“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made (constituted) sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made (constituted) righteous.” Romans 5:19 (KJV 1900)

What most do not understand is that Christ saves believers through His shed blood and his imputed righteousness. Our works are wood, hay, and stubble that cannot save. If improved on, they merit a better resurrection. But even then, believers remain saved by Christ’s imputed righteousness, even if all their petty works are destroyed by fire.

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” 1 Corinthians 3:11–15 (KJV 1900)

You are reading your theology into 1 Cor 3:

The context is the church breaking into factions, following different leaders. Paul is warning the work of the leaders in teaching their followers will be tested by fire (persecution) They can lay no other foundation but Christ and Him crucified.

If their followers stand firm in the face of persecution, they will be rewarded, If their followers fall away, they have failed and will suffer loss, though still be saved.

    peace to you

You are falsely accusing me of manipulating scripture. The main point is if you do not trust in Christ's imputed righteousness, rather than your own, you cannot have saving faith. You cannot have saving faith if you think you can be lost.

Are you equating OSAS teaching with FGT? If so, I completely agree. I’m a perseverance of the Saints type of guy.

It's 2 different teachings completely different and if you don't know the difference I don't think you should post on it do you?

As I said before, Dort got the last 2 points wrong, based on Calvin's universal atonement logic. It should be that the New Birth produces habitual holiness. Just as a cat acts like a cat. Or a dog like a dog. The new birth turns believers into Christians, in the biblical sense of the term. Dort's logic fails on points 4 & 5.

I know the difference and you go with Dort who is correct on the first 3 points but in line with universal atonement and works on points 4 & 5. Let's not get cocky.

Then you have no business with ‘1689’ in your username, as you are posting anti-1689 teaching.

I said before, points 4&5 are off but it's the closest I can come to finding bible truth. How many splinters do you have in your eyes?

Christ's imputed righteousness cannot sin. That's the works I trust in. But I work on my wood, hay, and stubble works in thanksgiving even though they lack the capacity of God's imputed righteousness. You need to get a hold of this.
