Just a word about the education issue. I would not want to lobby for creation to be taught. Many of those who would be 'teaching' it would teach it in such a tone as to make fun of it.
Far better for the wording to be that challenges to evolution may be taught. That keeps it within the realm of established and accepted science and also allows the Intelligent Design folks, who are doing such a good job in a number of places, to be acknowledged. Teaching 'creationism' truly does not come under a science heading. However mandating challenges to evolution leaves the door open for much more and does teach students to start looking at evidence and actually think for themselves, which is a valuable thing for anyone to learn.
And, the simple fact is that if it were known how all four legs of evolution (time, chance, mutations, and natural selection) fail to support it either singly or in concert, creationism is by elimination going to be taken more seriously in people's minds.
