The question is not whether lives were changed or not. A lots of things changes lives--yoga, AA, hynosis, therapy, nicotine patches, ad infinitum. The real question is not about man but God. Is God glorified by this flick? Is it consistent with His Word? Is it theologically accurate and truthful. Is it truth or is it mixed with error? Is it doctrinally correct? The Passion sounds like another gospel that is not the gospel. It is the humanistic gospel.

Lorelei and DonnaA make some good points. I would like to make to add to these points. It seems to me that if so many people have had life changing experiences from seeing this movie, then Bible sales should be through the roof. Instead of buying “The Passion” trinkets, you would think people would want to buy the book to learn about this Jesus. All those that I have talked to who have been “touched” by this movie STILL don’t have time to read the Bible or anything theological. I wish they would. Then they could be introduced to the true Jesus who actually does change lives. Not the made up jesus by a Catholic vision and all other unbiblical ideas.

BTW, these people on the website still need to change their life. Especially Jack Hayford and his Charismatic garbage along with Archbishop Charles J. Chaput and his Catholicism.

    Ecumenicalism at its best. :(

I must say that I am very encouraged and invigorated with hope by the comments as of late. Nice to see some of the Baptist discernment that I recognize kicking in.

That is not the kind of story that these people are looking for. Here is an example of what they mean.

Growth is a process and doesn't happen overnight, but true growth comes from the study of God's Word, not seeing a movie.

These people aren't interested in truth and they are not encouraging people to experience the kind of growth you are talking about.

We need to stop tyring to find the good in something that is bad. This movie is full of catholicism which is a false gospel. Mel Gibson admits his salvation is based upon his membership in the catholic church, not Christ. Mel and his cast spent some of their production time in a blasphemous mass in which they worship the wafer as if it is really Christ. They prayed to Mary and gave her honor in and outside of the movie. There is NO good in this.

I wonder how many people will be led into catholicism because of this movie. Picture how many people are now trusting in Mary as a co-redemptrix. If these people believe that until the day they die they will burn in hell. That is NOT something I want to partake in defending!

The Holy Spirit convicts a person of sin and leads them to the truth. We need to stop trying to give His job to Mel Gibson.

I was trying to watch tv last night. Passed by channel 22 (TBN). A preacher, I don't know who, was preaching how he had seen in his spirit the rising up of oppressed women in America, how that these oppressed women in America are going to restore life into the dead body of Christ.

He asked them to pray, he asked those of us at home who could feel the Holy Spirit working to go to the phone, he said he could see in his spirit that millions of wives across America were going to break the bondage of their dominant husbands because the followed the Holy Spirit and picked up the phone and called in a pledge.

Tammy Faye was there, she produced a bottle of oil, said it was holy anointing oil from Israel, all these women in the audience (T.D. Jakes was on the stage also) and several young people moving around, with hands raised, eyes half closed, swaying back and forth as if under some other force, Tammy Faye and other women from on stage began moving through the crowd, 'anointing' the women with this 'holy' oil from Israel, in the form of a cross on thier foreheads, the women were all praying swaying back and forth, they got kleenex tissue and daubed the oil on it and passed it out for the women to take home with them.

Once I was working on a diesel fuel oil furnace for an 'unwed' mother of two boys, they ran through the house, swiping my tools, etc, but really being just boys, she would firmly place her hand upon their foreheads and 'rebuke' satan, then she would come into the utility room and 'preach' to me about the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and finally decided I was lost and going to hell because I didn't believe in the Holy Spirit (I told her I beleived tongues and other such gifts had ceased).

    She rebuked the devil many times in the 1/2 hour I serviced the furnace, he never seemed to mind, if he was in either of her children when I got there, he remained, they continued in their bouncing and running and being boys, they needed a good father, a true head of the house to lead them spiritually, they needed to be in a good church, I just needed out of there, I did repair the furnace. I still see her occassionally, she is preaching the gospel now and rebuking the devil everywhere she goes, he is still unbound and decieving many;

I told her the truth of God's word, she sought for charisma, she found it, she would appreciate some of that oil, me too, our weather has been pretty here a couple of days last week, I have some mosquito bites itching.

I couldn't make it to the phone last night, but the close of the sermon urged oppressed women all over America to rise up like Mary Magdalene, like the mother of God, to restore life back to the dead body of Christ.

I thank God he brought me to a sound Baptist church, which is not 100% right, but at least not looking for no charisma to carry them through, but Grace alone.

Anybody got any corn husker's lotion? It is almost a sacred ointment among old dairy farmers in these parts of opressed America, and it works.

Most of America has done Crossed Over, with Mysticism and any occult movement coming down the road; Remember the vagabond Jews casting out demons in the name of Jesus, they were told by the demons that Jesus they knew, Paul they knew, but them, they did not know, then the demons cast themselves on them and they were torn.

What do people think they are playing with here? Puppets on a string? Have any of you ever tried to do a study on Satan and Satanism? Have you ever had anything to happen like someone you were thinking about calling but put it off and they called you? Try the Spirits, that is scripture.

Dallas, people are grappling for anything that seems spiritual, even lies, they don't seem to care if it the truth or not. People are spiritually hungry I believe, but they are deceived into believing lying spirits. To me this is so sad that they deny the truth.
I'm with you, I'm so thankful God called us to salvation and membership in a good decent baptist church where truth is taught and Jesus is worshiped.
