Are they trying to get SACS seal of approval as well?

Its interesting that based on the AP story there is quite a backlash from students who were hoping for a better accreditation based in the "Christian Ivy" promises.

==I would hope they would. TRACS accreditation is good but there are still schools out there that will not honor degrees/credits from schools accredited by TRACS only. I have found a few seminaries that refuse such credits (SBTS, TEDS, etc) but most seem to accept such credits/degrees at least on a case by case basis. Secular universities seem to be much the same. However TRACS accreditation is better than none at all.

Is this an inside joke, or is there something funny about home-schoolers going to college?

It's certainly not uncommon, as homeschoolers do pretty well in college. I guess we're not privy to the joke, then :wavey:

What AP story are you refering to that indicates there is a backlash?

Well, if lefties or righties want to have their own colleges, it's a free country.

Now, can we get back on topic? :wavey:

No, because I never left the topic.

Patrick Henry College is being hypocritical. On the one hand it is wailing and gnashing its collective teeth on the current moral decline and lack of educational accountability in todays educational systems, yet on the other hand it is going out and seeking accreditation from these very same "institutions".

Why, go through all this hassle

    Moderator's note

The topic of this thread is dealing with Patrick Henry's accreditation. It is beyond the purview of this forum to discuss the merits of homescooling. It is beyond the purview of this thread to discuss the merits of accreditation (as if we haven't hashed that to death).

Any further posts not on topic will be deleted or edited per BB rules, and the poster can be subject to administrative discipline.

    Thanks! :wavey:

The information I posted was my summary off of Patrick Henry's website

    http://www.phc.edu/academics/accreditation.asp

Note the heading accreditation, I think this has a lot to do with PHC and its accreditation
