Authorities Say Man Was Likely Making Bombs

The FBI has determined that the man working with the explosives was acting alone

Benjamin D. Morrow, 28, of Beaver Dam...was home-schooled before graduating from Pensacola (Florida) Christian College in 2013, according to his obituary

"...he has been described as a bomb maker and he’s not a bomb maker,” said the Rev. Jerry Marsden...pastor at Calvary Baptist Fellowship in Sturgeon Bay.

Since the explosions dispersed chemicals throughout the building, plans have been made to burn it down Thursday morning rather than risk more explosions or hazards to workers, authorities said....Fire Chief Alan Mannel and [Police Chief John] Kreuziger were in tears when they told residents Tuesday that they can’t collect their belongings before the fire because of safety concerns.

The man who died in Monday's apartment blast in Beaver Dam had extensive knowledge of chemicals, sources tell WISN 12 News...Why he was apparently collecting bomb-making materials remains a mystery

WISN 12 News has learned he grew up in a rural setting in the town of Black Creek in Outagamie County, and would have attended Seymour High School but was home-schooled. Neighbors described the family as reclusive.

he graduated from college in 2013 with a pre-pharmacy degree and worked as a scientist in Madison for three years before taking a job last June in Beaver Dam at Richelieu Foods, where he worked as a quality control technician.

Wisconsin man who blew himself up building bomb has ties to Pensacola

State investigator...found 13 jars of the explosive triacetone triperoxide, or TATP...along with bomb-making instructions...containers labeled TATP were also found in an apartment garage.

Authorities say they also found white supremacist literature in the bedroom. It is not clear if Morrow identified as a white supremacist. According to Morrow's online obituary, he graduated from Murrow Home School in 2007 and from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida in May 2013.

TATP can explode if subjected to heat, friction, static electricity or shock. Authorities were forced to burn down the apartment building because the chemicals were too volatile to remove.
