House Speaker Nancy Pelosi doubled down on impeachment Monday, telling her Democratic colleagues in a memo that it was “weak” and “dangerous” to back off and let the American people decide in 2020.

“The weak response to these hearings has been, ‘Let the election decide.’ That dangerous position only adds to the urgency of our action, because POTUS is jeopardizing the integrity of the 2020 elections,” Pelosi explained.

The pick of a President is too important an issue to be left to the voters? Gee, aren't the Dims always going on about the democratic process and elections? More proof that those people cannot be trusted to hold any sort of political power.

Pelosi is trying to show some "leadership" while secretly hoping the House declines to impeach. If they decline, she'll whine, "I TRIED to get them to impeach",

If she had any ACTUAL evidence she knew could bring a "Guilty" verdict from the Senate, she'd push hard & loud for impeachment day and night. But she knows that, right now, it won't fly, so she's making plans & trying to lay some groundwork to cover her own backside if the House impeaches & the Senate acquits, which is the current scenario at this time. Then, she can shift the blame for acquittal on the Senate while keeping her own nose clear.

But still, the ensuing voter backlash will likely cost her the Speakership, as the public will turn on the Dems as it turned on the GOP after the failed Clinton impeachment, as the GOP will exploit the Dem-controlled House's monumental waste of taxpayers' $$ on a "witch hunt". They'll want the 'swamp" drained more-than-ever.

I think impeachment has become all but obsolete given the changes since the constitution was written. There was a time when people knew little about what was happening with the president and the people had little say in who became president. But, now the voters can easily vote a bad president out of office.

Never mind that Trump didn't do what he's accused of, and what he's accused of isn't a crime. Bill Clinton committed an offense that would get him fired as CEO at any company. And, he perjured himself in Congress about his conduct.
