Perfect Storm of Hype: Irene

The storm came in Sunday and it was Thursday when most people were able to prepare. Knowing how bad it could be allowed evacuations, LOTS of waterfront preparation and home prep as well. Honestly, the damage was minimized because of that. Remember, the 1938 hurricane was only a category 1/2 - but there was no "hype" and thus no preparation time.

Doesn't matter where you live, it was over hyped...especially by politicians (Odrama) for political purposes and news organizations in a slow news month...August.

Southern states suffered the side effects of a real hurricane, but no direct hit. The direct hit was in the Northeast by Tropical Storm Irene...not a hurricane at all.

The damage is real, but nowhere near what the hype called for.

That's just a fact.

What is wrong with making a error on the side of safety? If the harm had hit you and your I do believe you would be singing a different story.

Buy the way, go to Vermont and try selling you story there. I don't believe you would have a welcoming reception there.

You certainly seem to have no compassion for anyone.
