My computer broke down several months ago and I got a laptop. On the old computer I had a marvelous (yet simple) photo resizer / editor but I don't remember what the name was. Looked everywhere to no avail. The icon of this free program is (if I remember it correctly) a white cirle with a red image inside - resemling an inkblotch. Anyone has seen this program? Would appeciate if you let me know where to download it from. :type:

That is very vague, I don't recognize the program. I assume your are using a windows machine. I found this link of the top 10 free windows photo editors.

Other than that, you may try searching through sourceforge.net to see if you can find the program. I know that is frustrating to you. When I find a very useful program, I keep a copy of the install executable (windoze programs) backed up along with a text file that includes any code keys to make the thing work.

If all else fails and you can't find it, you may try GIMP for windows, it is free and very useful.

Maybe it was an older version of IrfanView? The main page for it has a what looks like a piece of white paper with a red inkblot as its favicon

Thank you gentlemen! Funny thing happened to me as I was parking at Staples this morning (before checking this thread). There was a truck on the right side with the name "Irvin" written on the door with other info. And all of a sudden I remembered, "IrfanView!" You were right Trotter, it is IrfanView. I have already downloaded it from tucows and worked with the program this afternoon. Thanks for your inputs!
