"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men" ...Luke 2:13-14

It's not a "common phrase". It is a quote of the angels of heaven announcing to the common people of earth that God was made flesh, born to bear witness to the truth and to provide a sinless sacrifice on the cross for the sins of all who believe. The Almighty became flesh that day through birth to the virgin Mary.

Planned parenthood is going merrily along on their way like a deaf man stepping in front of a speeding train, without a clue as to the future that awaits them. Where standest thou?

PP makes big bucks from abortion. These are professional baby killers. You really think they are going to be neutral when it comes to 'counseling' women with 'problem' pregnancies, when they have a vested interest in what the 'choice' is? If you truly believe that, I've got a bridge in New York I can sell you, real cheap.

    I wasn't aware that I did.

I don't think your average pro-abortion person would choose or enourage abortion as a first option.

I just think that they're so blinded by political ideology that they truly don't understand how damaging abortion is both to the child (obviously)or to the women and girls they're supposedly trying to help.[/QB][/QUOTE]

yes, I realize that. I meant safe as in the mom will survive just fine and not be discriminated against because of it.

The abortionists call it "pro-choice." The only one who doesn't have a choice in the matter is the baby! [IMG]

There are only two choices: Pro-life & Pro-death.

    She Eagle, Pa. Jim,

There isn't much I can add to this discussion as I have always considered abortion synonomous with murder. If Planned Parenthood doesn't believe and counsel young women to destroy life, then I have misunderstood the anguish and remorse I have personally heard from some young women who HAVE had abortions. I don't remember any of them mentioning that they were counseled to have their baby and give it up for adoption. Perhaps I misunderstood???

I am vehemently pro-choice. I believe that a woman has a choice to NOT have sex and risk pregnancy. If she choses to risk sex, and becomes pregnant, there should no longer be any "choice" allowed to cause the death of another human being.

I also believe that God HATES "hands that shed innocent blood." I am glad I will not be in the path of that hatred when God begins to judge alleged "liberal Christians."

My apologies, Mike. That's how I interpreted your statements. Apparantly, I was wrong.

    Anyway, again, like I said,

"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men" ...Luke 2:13-14

It's not a "common phrase". Providing abortions is not merely "not discouraging" them.
Planned Parenthood perfoms these murders at their clinics daily. They finance government candidates that are pro-abortion.
Here are their nine reasons for keeping abortion legal.
Keep in mind when you're reading this that approximately 3% of abortions are due to rape and medical factors. The rest I suppose are what they term "accidents"?

    1. Laws against abortions kill women
To prohibit abortions does not stop them. When women feel it is absolutely necessary, they will choose to have abortions, even in secret, without medical care, in dangerous circumstances. In the two decades before abortion was legal in the U.S., it's been estimated that nearly a million women per year sought out illegal abortions. Thousands died. Tens of thousands were mutilated. All were forced to behave as if they were criminals. (Gina: Murder IS a crime! Tens of thousands were not raped or in need of a medical abortion)

    2. Legal abortions protect women's health.

Legal abortion not only protects women's lives, it also protects their health. For tens of thousands of women with heart disease, kidney disease, severe hypertension, sickle-cell anemia and severe diabetes, and other illnesses that can be life-threatening, the availability of legal abortion has helped avert serious medical complications that could have resulted from childbirth. Before legal abortion, such women's choices were limited to dangerous illegal abortion or dangerous childbirth.
(Gina: These tens of thousands of women are not getting abortions for these reasons)

    3. A woman is more than a fetus.

There's an argument these days that a fetus is a "person" that is "indistinguishable from the rest of us" and that it deserves rights equal to women's. On this question there is a tremendous spectrum of religious, philosophical, scientific, and medical opinion. It's been argued for centuries. Fortunately, our society has recognized that each woman must be able to make this decision, based on her own conscience. To impose a law defining a fetus as a "person," granting it rights equal to or superior to a woman's — a thinking, feeling, conscious human being — is arrogant and absurd. It only serves to diminish women.
(Gina: my children have just as much right to life as I do and I am NOT diminished or less of a person because they are as valuable as I am, or even more so!)

    4. Being a mother is just one option for women.

Many hard battles have been fought to win political and economic equality for women. These gains will not be worth much if reproductive choice is denied. To be able to choose a safe, legal abortion makes many other options possible. Otherwise an accident or a rape can end a woman's economic and personal freedom.
(Gina: Back to the 3% thing again! Also include that if you don't want to be a mother you have OPTIONS of birth control and abstinence)

    5. Outlawing abortion is discriminatory.

Anti-abortion laws discriminate against low-income women, who are driven to dangerous self-induced or back-alley abortions. That is all they can afford. But the rich can travel wherever necessary to obtain a safe abortion.
(Gina: that's the STUPIDEST thing I ever heard!)

    6. Compulsory pregnancy laws are incompatible with a free society.

If there is any matter which is personal and private, then pregnancy is it. There can be no more extreme invasion of privacy than requiring a woman to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term. If government is permitted to compel a woman to bear a child, where will government stop? The concept is morally repugnant. It violates traditional American ideas of individual rights and freedoms.

(Gina: compulsory pregnancy? They CHOSE to have sex!)

    7. Outlaw abortion, and more children will bear children.

Forty percent of 14-year-old girls will become pregnant before they turn 20. This could happen to your daughter or someone else close to you. Here are the critical questions: Should the penalty for lack of knowledge or even for a moment's carelessness be enforced pregnancy and childrearing? Or dangerous illegal abortion? Should we consign a teenager to a life sentence of joblessness, hopelessness, and dependency?

(Gina: Making murder legal for the sake of the children. Hmmm. Sickening argument!)

    8. "Every child a wanted child."

If women are forced to carry unwanted pregnancies to term, the result is unwanted children. Everyone knows they are among society's most tragic cases, often uncared-for, unloved, brutalized, and abandoned. When they grow up, these children are often seriously disadvantaged, and sometimes inclined toward brutal behavior to others. This is not good for children, for families, or for the country. Children need love and families who want and will care for them.

(Gina: there ARE other options! If abortion was banned the number of these pregnancies would significantly drop.)

    9. Choice is good for families.

Even when precautions are taken, accidents can and do happen. For some families, this is not a problem. But for others, such an event can be catastrophic. An unintended pregnancy can increase tensions, disrupt stability, and push people below the line of economic survival. Family planning is the answer. All options must be open.

(Gina: A baby isn't an accident, the person chose to have sex on purpose. Ripping up a child to save cash and embarassment is more catastrophic than adoption or raising the child you chose to make.)

    Yes, Planned Parenthood promotes abortion.

Beijing even forces women to have abortions – sometimes late-term abortions – to maintain its barbaric population-control policies.

FOr the records, many humanitarian groups oppose this, including Amnesty International.

After reading all of your comments I would just like to say that it isn't anything new... What was said about Choice on Earth was the same thing that the media has been doing ever since the beginning of my life anyway. How many scriptures from the Bible are "tweeked" to suit an advertisement campain? How many songs for that matter are used to sell cars and beer? It's advertising...that's all it is. And it is done because originality in advertisement is extremely difficult. They wanted attention...and they got it didn't they?

We read the Bible...we know what it really says...We are not the only ones. Why make a big deal about things like this. What a waste of time.

What is that adage? Swollow a camel, and strain on a gnat? ( I could be off on this one...it's not one I use very often) ;)

Only a waste of time if one doesn't care about murder of the unborn or blasphemy. Otherwise, yeah, it's a waste of time. Let's not be salt and light in this wicked world. [IMG]

why is that stupid? - it is surely common sense isn't it?

rich women would be able to travel abroad for abortions, poor women won't - I would have thought that was obvious - or are you going to prevent people leaving the country to get abortions where they are legal?

Of course not, InHim. That's why we have legalized mass murder here in the U.S. of A. If out of utero humans were murdered that way, it would be called genocide. The way it is now, we can take a full term baby, deliver the baby feet first, everything except for the head, then poke a scissors into the bottom of the skull and suck out it's brains, and it's called a partial birth abortion. If the head is delivered before that, then it's called murder. A thin line, you know, between what's legal and what's not. And you don't even have to be rich. [IMG]

You make it sound like it's legal for a woman give partial birth and then abort the baby via this method. That's not true.

Partial birth abortions are done in cases where the baby being delivered is going to be stillborn. When the baby dies prior to birth, it stiffens, and it becomes impossible to deliver the baby vaginally. The cut at the base of the spine releases the tension and allows for the remainder of the baby to pass through the birth canal.

The alternative to this is a radical c-section (where the mother's entier abdomen is opened up), resulting in sterility and, in some cases, death of the mother.

I'm generally anti-abortion, but have no problem with partial birth abortions.

John, I made it sound exactly how it is done.

    D&X is dilation and extraction.

    From another source:

I think some people around here just like to argue. If not that, then candy coat the horrible truth! Sheesh! [IMG]
