Please Pray for my little boy.

    Hey, we have moved Gideon to St. Jude/LeBonheur hospital in Memphis, TN. He has a tumor the size of a small orange on the back left of his brain. The good news is that the cat scan suggests that the tumor is probably benign and that surgery will probably totally fix it.
    We are praying that the way my wife (Shannon) and I handle this whole situation will make our God look great. This is a terrific opportunity God has given us.
    If anyone wants to keep up with us, we have a prayer group for him (Gideon Jordan) on facebook.

    Praying for your son.

    Is there any chance of stereotactic radiation being used on the tumor. It is noninvasive.

    I underwent SR rather than surgery, for an acoustic neuroma, a benign tumor on the auditory nerve in the skull, in 1997 and it was, for me, the right decision.

    I'm very sorry for the late update on Gideon's condition. It's been a crazy 6 weeks. On November 7, Gideon had a tumor the size of a small orange removed from his left cerebellum(back of the brain) and close to his brain stem. The surgeon informed us that the he was able to remove the entire tumor. A week later, we were released from the hospital and back home.
    The part of the brain where this tumor affected controlled motor skills. It did not affect his memory or wit in any way. Gideon has been in therapy 3 days a week since he's been home in order for him to learn to care for himself again. He is doing great! His most obvious disability is his inability to walk. However, his balance and strength are slowly returning and he can now walk with one of us holding his hand for support.
    We just got back yesterday from Memphis to have a post op visit with the doctor. The report is that within 6 months to 1 year, Gideon should recover fully.
    We praise God for this time we've been through. Through this He has reminded us that our hope fully rests in our sovereign God and that He is all we really need...even if the outcome turned out worse. Thanks for all your prayers.

    heal precious Gideon. :praying:for Gideon's parents for strength and keep them
    both close to You and to each other during these times spent traveling and additional expenses.May You meet all of their needs.
