Church lady attires pastor in pieced-together potholders from her deceased friend's stockpile.

Church member Violet “Vi” Stork made the vestment — from hot pads knitted by her sister-in-law, the late Gretchen Wolf. "She was my best friend,” Stork said.

“The potholders have been a little bit of a joke because there were just so many of them,” said Joyce Stork of Fremont. “Our best guess is that there were more than a thousand."

Hmm. It would be very convenient if I could get my husband to wear one of those. Perfect reason for him to do all the lifting from the oven. He'd already be wearing the potholders. I like this!
