    Your thoughts?

Personally, I think this is a good thing. Next step is to require all porn sites to register to this domain; then it'll be simple to block them.

I'm not being facetious. We currently play a cat-and-mouse game to block and/or take down these sites; this will actually make protecting what my kids see on the internet easier.

And yes, I know that unscrupulous people will still find ways to keep it off the new domain; I used the word "easier" instead of "completely."

I think it is a great idea. The person is right, it will be easier to block the .xxx extension than individual sites, which pop up frequently using "close to" another domain in hopes of capturing unsuspecting people.

I am sure browsers will now have an option to block .xxx.

Wouldnt that be like saying, if a teen is going to have s@x. then they should use a condem so she wont get PG or a STD.

if smut-peddlers were willing to sequester themselves to one domain, it would be easier for all of us.

But, likely, they'll continue (at least most of them) with their surprise-attack, guerilla tactics. But hey...the more I can block, the better....

Thanks for the good news. It will be much easier for parents, schools, and public libraries to block the bad stuff while letting literature and and medical info through.
