Never mind! DAVID LETTERMAN thought this was real and had the Top Ten Reasons Powell is resigning...
So, they believed it too.

I first heard it on the radio news (commercial, not sure which network) yesterday, but I thought it was bogus because the report was that "Colin Powell reportedly says he will resign next January the day after President Bush is sworn in for his second term", and I think even Bush (let alone Powell) realizes the swearing in, assuming Bush is reelected, will be a year from next January, not next January.

One positive of this kind of messup is that the super liberal Washington Post gets exposed for what they really are...a glorified tabloid. They are about as credible as those papers lining the grocery checkouts.

Exaggerate much? The Washington Post is generally reliable. In this case, they were fooled, but printed a retraction.

Hardly on the level of "98 year old woman gives birth" or "Horse born with the head of a boy".
