Glad he chose that route, Sheila. Rest assured, he is covered in prayer in Illinois! And so are you!

Rob has appointments at the hospital on Thursday and Friday. He has to have a mask made and fitted and he also has to have a CT and MRI scan.

He treatment will be starting soon.

Thank you to all who remember him in prayer.

    Blessings

I think the scans are to get a more up to date size of the tumour and to help the drs line up the equipment to accurately target the tumour with the radiotherapy. Because if is pushing up against the brain stem everything needs to be as accurate as possible.

    Blessings

Thank you so much for all your prayers. Rob will start treatment on the 4th August and we have use of an apartment at the hospital for the duration of the treatment (6 weeks).

One of the problems with this treatment is that it can cause the tumour to expand before the cells are killed, which will hopefully lead to the tumour reducing in size. There is not a lot of room now for that expansion, and as the tumour is pushing the brain stem over - well, I don't like to think of the consequences.

We know we are being looked after and a lot of dear people are praying for Rob and that is such a comfort. The specialists are hopeful of a good outcome but they can't rule out the need for surgery at a later stage. Once the treatment is over we just have to wait and pray.

We heard a little while ago that my brother had a heart attack during the night. His stent blocked. He was treated very quickly but will have to stay in hospital for a few days. He is not saved, so please pray for him.

    Blessings

    God bless you today.

As much reading as you do, I expect you have an enormous stack lined up for that time period.

Thank you so much for all your prayers.

Tomorrow we travel to the hospital for a trial run, to make sure the mask fits etc and on Monday the treatment starts. We will be away for 6 weeks but I will try and keep in touch.

    Blessings to you all

Rob has had his first week of treatment. It has gone well so far and there is another 5 weeks of treatment to go. We are home for the weekend but we think that maybe the journey is too much and too expensive to make every week.

It will be some time before we know if the treatment is successful. We take one day at a time because that is what the Good Lord blesses us with. It is also what we can cope with.

Thank you again for all your prayers. We are very comfortable in the apartment the hospital has made available to us and all the staff are very kind and helpful. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.

    Blessings to you all

Rob's treatment is now complete. He will have MRI scans at 6 and 12 months and these should enable the specialists to see if the treatment has been successful. A lot of prayers have been answered and we are very blessed. Rob is only now feeling tired and he has a thin patch on his head behind his left ear.

We did have to spend Saturday evening in the E.R. because he had chest pains and it would seem that he still has a slight problem with angina, even after the angioplasty procedure last February.

We are very pleased to be home and we are now trying to find medical insurance so that we might possibly have a holiday. It has been quite a year.

Our grateful thanks to all who have held Rob in prayer. Please continue to do so - he is not out of the woods yet.

    Blessings

Just an update. Rob is doing fine at the moment generally. He will have an MRI scan in April. That is when we willhopefully get a first indication as to whether or not the treatment is working. His hair has started to grow back!!
