Kentucky death toll will exceed 70, governor warns, as tornado-producing storm system rips across more states

I am greatly saddened to read of the devastation that has been caused in a number of States from these tornados, and the tragic loss of lives and livelihood

Praying for the Great Mercy, Love, Comfort, Protection and Healing from our Wonderful God at this time. May He bring much good out of this, and save and heal many

Please take care of yourselves, and keep on trusting our Great Saviour, JESUS!

The tornadoes are over. e.

The tornadoes are over

but the loss of life, peoples homes, and businesses are very much still there, and will be for a very long time!

The issue of Biden and the others, is completely different

I read that the job growth under Biden has been the best for 60 years! what about this?

It is sad and they need our prayers as they try to pick up their lives. The death toll and extent of damage is still unclear.

Everytime I hear of a natural disater or a mass killing, I think of Jesus answer:

About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the Temple. “Do you think those Galileans were worse sinners than all the other people from Galilee?” Jesus asked. “Is that why they suffered? Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God. And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem? No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”
~ Luke 13:1-5

Me, it's tornados and hurricanes that make me glad I'm a Californian. I can deal with earthquakes every ten years or so. But, twisters and hurricanes every year, no thank you.

I wonder if there are any on BB who see these tornadoes as God's Judgement?
I see it as God subjecting all creation to futility. I do not see it as judgment, per se, because much of the suffering is within the Christian community. God's wrath never falls upon the righteous. Maybe in certain cases it is discipline, but I do not think we can say this as a whole.

yes, that system was extensive. it wasn't nearly as deep/wide as others I've seen, but it was intense and covered a LONG distance.

Prayers for those lost and who suffered loss. (references to POTUS are misguided in this thread)

it rains on the just and the unjust, right?

This storm didn't surprise God ... but I wouldn't characterize the system as judgment either. However, it certainly qualifies as "various places" in time. Tornados in December. hmm.

True. The USA is such a huge country, why are there humans living in areas that have so many damage ever year? Apart from the loss of life, the financial costs must be billions every year?
