Then many 'poor' people would have to stop taking advantage of others.

You need to go back and read your OP because it doesn't say anything about that.

It only says that Obama's message was centered on Christ...

    But it isn't.

That is not our responsibility. We are too feed the poor and clothe the needy. What a difference we could make if we did.

    The president is right here.

It IS your responsibility if you are a Christian and 'poor'. That was my point. there's too many self-proclaimed Christian charity cases out there.

Nothing would happen to it. The poor you will always have with you—Jesus.

You need to put it into context.

Who was talking and what is his ideology?

Obama believes that the few should be taxed so that the government can give to the many and in that way buy votes for Democrats.

He is not talking about caring for the needy in the way that Christians think of it.

I pray He believes on and knows the One who he spoke about.

He is what he is, a hypocrite and a liar.

What he said doesn't change that at all.

No my friend. President Obama's message did not center on Christ but works. It was a moralistic message.

    President Obama's quotes:

Whew I am exhausted!!!!! That sure is a lot to DO...DO...DO...DO...DO...DO

Sorry President Obama, but works is not Christ message, and I honestly can't live up to all that religion you just burdened me with.

    (Matthew 11:30)
"For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." :godisgood:

    Roger,

You have me confused. There was a thread about Congress not allowing Reps to include "Merry Christmas"

If I remember correctly, you applauded the decision of the House censors.

Therefore, should you not than chastise the President for issuing a Christmas greeting, mentioning God, ect?

Nope, my problem is using the franking privilege to send Christmas cards.

I have not problem with the president using Christmas to refer to Christ's teaching on caring for others.

Actually, I would like to see all Senate franking privileges revoked.

Yes- and staff slashed, a pay cut to part-time so they have to work a REAL job as they did in the past, no benefits that are not extended to other Americans (i.e. no more cushy retirement, medical benefits or trading stocks on insider information), no voting privileges on pork that benefits their own district.

I know all that is too much to hope for, but a guy can dream...

A little confused here. In my Bible Jesus specifically tells us to love God (works?) and love our neighbour as ourselves (works?)

Is that too much to be burdened with?

Okay, I don't wanting franking privileges to be used to send Christmas letters.

Okay, as long as you really think the cost is comparable I will concede that you have a point.

The House lost those privileges a long time ago. Would you favour re-instating them.
