Property taxes are that bad

In my estimation, all property taxes are bad. A person who pays property taxes never truly owns their land, their home, or any other property that they have to pay taxes on every year. I'd like to know how she is able to pay only $68 in property taxes on something like that. perhaps she can work to make everyone's property taxes that low.

How do you propose to pay for public services?

We're taxed on everything else. We pay sales tax, federal income tax, & state income tax. Those are just the taxes I'm most familiar with. I know there's a lot more of them. Let's not forget about licenses & permits that people now have to have to do certain things. The way I see it, the government has all the money to do what they need. Why do they need more of it? I wish the government would "spread its own wealth around" like a famous political figure once said.

The US can't be bankrupt as long as the dollar is the reserve currency.

If the US is bankrupt then why is inflation close to zero if one controls for price of oil and the effect of fuel on food production and distribution particularly the tariffs on alcohol and the subsidies for turning food into fuel?

Look like the city helped her fix her home by a reduction in taxes. I did not even know that the taxes for a lot could be that low.

I am no international finance expert, Bill, but I am smart enough to understand that when I spend more than I earn I'm not getting wealthy.

Our government has been deficit spending for years, the only thing that keeps us from going under is "creative accounting" and God almighty- and I'm not sure how much longer He will put up with us!

It depends upon what one does with the borrowed money. Very few people pay cash when they buy a house but for most people a mortgage is a "good" debt. Buying toys and vacations on credit is "bad" debt. In the 1800's money was borrowed to build the railroads. This paid us back many times over. Money spent by govt in the last few years seems to include much waste and inefficiency and political payoffs.

I agree...

And to add, most businesses are started with an investment of some sort. A SB loan or borrowing from partners or investors to get startup capital. I agree that not all debt is evil.
