There is plenty of parables that teach that like the talents and this one:

    Luke 12

41Peter said, “Lord, are You addressing this parable to us, or to everyone else as well?” 42And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time? 43“Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. 44“Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 45“But if that slave says in his heart, ‘My master will be a long time in coming,’ and begins to beat the slaves, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk; 46the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and assign him a place with the unbelievers.47“And that slave who knew his master’s will and did not get ready or act in accord with his will, will receive many lashes, 48but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.

Moral of the story is : From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.

Among things like this the church teaches invincible ignorance and that you should always follow your good conscience.

1782 Man has the right to act in conscience and in freedom so as personally to make moral decisions. "He must not be forced to act contrary to his conscience. Nor must he be prevented from acting according to his conscience, especially in religious matters."53

I probably don't agree with anyone in this thread on religious matters. It would be a sin on my part to vilify you and say well you are evil for not doing what we do. Nor do we use TERRORISM like using God as a terrorist weapon a boogey man who is going to hurt you if you don't do what we say.

I assume everyone who debates me does so for God's sake. Some folks do it out of Love and kindness and some folks do it out of fear. Some folks are just soldiers who got no problem putting folks in a gas chamber if God commands.

The THOUGHT counts. So even if you are against my church-Catholic its still honorable long as your following your good conscience , your heart.

I think like a pair of dirty hands we can clean each other up.

    Romans 14
5One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it.

    Romans 14
14I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

    Romans 14
21It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

If by some teaching you were not allowed to eat fried chicken I would make attempt not to do it in line with what you believe.

Same for our 7th day Folks I'm not going to go to church on Sunday on account if it grieves them.

I think i can't smoke or drink around 7thday folks and baptist(some baptist), JW's drink beer.

Catholics......be getting high plus Mardi Gras.

There is a lot of common ground though enough that if anyone followed their faith 100% its of good benefit.

The #1 thing I'm pushing is God is Love and Love is God in so much that all matters concerning God and all matters concerning LOVE are indistinguishable.

You take love away from any religion its useless.

This parable speaks of talents and resources, nothing about "Light" on matters of doctrine.

What if one's "good" conscience goes against God's good Word? What if the "good" Muslim or Jew says I love God and I love my neighbor but I want nothing to do with God's blood offering for my sins?

We cannot force anyone to believe on Jesus Christ, we can warn them that if they refuse God's propitiation for their sin that they will be damned and will not receive eternal life.

Not necessarily, depends on if what you are doing is what God said to do or not do. It is not a sin to repeat to another what God has declared to mankind, actually it would be a sin to not say anything and let them go about believing they are ok with God. So it is evil to hear of God's salvation and then to reject it and go about life making up one's own religion as they see fit with their own conscience.

Does the THOUGHT override God's Word? Or does God judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart according to His Word?

In this God specifically gave liberty without consequences from Him to eat or not eat. This does not give a person liberty to reject God's commands on other specifics which God has laid out in His Word.

Really??? So you do not go to Sunday worship?

Benefit to whom? How does a Jew or a Muslim who follows their faith 100% get saved when they reject God's salvation command to believe on Jesus Christ or perish in their sin?

God can handle it Steaver, Think about all the worry you going through.

You are at the point, Steaver of DEFENDING US from your IDEA OF GOD. That should be your first big red flag.

I can certainly count on you being reasonable but not God? Let me knock out your challenges:

"This parable speaks of talents and resources, nothing about "Light" on matters of doctrine."

They (sda buddies) are using "LIGHT" as metaphor for knowledge and warning anyone's "willful-ignorance" against the doctrine of worshiping on Sabbath. Now in their head no doubt they clicked A=B and B=C then A=C, they are dead set convinced Sabbath is #1 obsession.

I have to look up, God gives a differ measure of faith to everyone, The talents is your capacity and strengths and what you do with them.

Steaver if you were born some Muslim country sure enough you'd be telling us Allah is one and Mo is his prophet.

You had a privileged upbringing and you spit on the faces of others for it.

"What if one's "good" conscience goes against God's good Word? What if the "good" Muslim or Jew says I love God and I love my neighbor but I want nothing to do with God's blood offering for my sins?"

Kindness, Love, Compassion, Mercy. Always defend others. You already know whats "right" what is KIND and loving. God is not a bully.

To rely on a loving-kindness alone is to rely on God alone, Its not against the word because it is the word, that is GOD in your heart.

The only thing holding you back is FEAR. If the "send you to hell" Wand was in my hand, who's feet do you think people would be kissing? Plenty.

I'm going to kinda repeat myself here:

I hope you never have to go through the perspective of having someone you love die in your arms. Hell and suffering become tiny.......real quick. My place in it all becomes trash. And all I care for and wish for is that all fear and suffering and pain come my way instead of ever touching anyone I love or hate. All that remains is a father's love for their child.

That is just a fraction of God, what are you going to do against someone who loves and cares for everyone?

"In this God specifically gave liberty without consequences from Him to eat or not eat. This does not give a person liberty to reject God's commands on other specifics which God has laid out in His Word."

    Romans 14
15But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

Right here Paul says he is abstaining from eating meat for the sake of the guy it could offend.

    In other words:

21It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

Don't do anything that would make your brother stumble, offend or made weak. He already told us he normally does whatever he wants, but not at the expense of his brother who is starting in faith who may only have a quarter of whole faith you have.

Obviously if the brother wants to do some human sacrifice, its not saying yeah go ahead and do that.

Good and Evil have their own set of TOOLS and WEAPONS. Its not hard to pick them out:

GOOD has LOVE, Kindness, Mercy, Patient Evil has FEAR, accusation, violence, hate.

Its harder to rely on the power of encouragement rather the discourage another.

Its harder to rely on peaceful ways, then to threaten or terrorize.

When you have to confront someone else about religious matters God doesn't put the other guy in the cross hairs most the time its YOU.

If I had 50 million dollars, Seriously doubt I would have any trouble giving it away to anyone here.

But whats with my attitude with Jesus Christ? What I can say about Jesus Christ is worth way more then 50 million dollars, but My sin is I don't treat it that way, that I don't trust or believe God.

You understand? Before I even get up to bat, where is my faith in God? Because if I don't believe it, I'm never going to get anyone else to believe it.

When you walk up to lets say a Muslim and you have to give him 1000 dollars, do you think he will reject it? No we immediately think to ourselves I WOULD love this money of course he's going to be happy of course who wouldn't be, ect, ect.

But see I don't give that respect to God. When I approach a Muslim, as if I won the LOTTO, as if I got the greatest news and best thing ever for this guy......AND IT WOULD NEVER cross my mind that anyone would reject what I have to say.

Do you understand its not the Muslim, or the Atheist who is the problem........God is trying to fix ME, I'm the PROBLEM.

Someone who has full faith in God, is absolutely calm and relaxed, they are fearless and unstoppable. Their treasure is so so so right it would never cross their mind that anyone would reject it, because they saw how much of a good thing they have.

Whatever I know of God is given to me by God through Jesus Christ and His holy Word.
The "measure of faith" spoken of by Paul and explained by Paul is the measure of faith given to each believer in Jesus Christ. He is not talking about all mankind receiving a measure of faith.
Why? There are millions upon millions born right here in the USA who hate Jesus Christ even though Jesus is preached in every town, city and countryside. There are Christians found in every Muslim dominated country and there are Christians who suffer shunning and even death from their own family for receiving Jesus Christ as their Saviour. It matters not where one is born, if they can hear the Gospel they can make a choice whether to believe and be saved or reject and be damned.
Withholding the Truth of Jesus Christ and His Gospel, telling unbelievers as long as they love people and love God in their own way they will be ok with God is spitting on the faces of those who do not believe in Jesus.
Paul dealt with this kind of salvation message when he said the Jews have a great zeal for God, but will not be saved apart from receiving Jesus Christ as Lord.
Do you think they would be kissing your feet? God holds the "wand" and they do not kiss His feet, why would they kiss yours?
Presently I have three aunts and one uncle that may not live beyond the next six months. My three aunts are saved and looking forward to seeing the Lord, death has no fear for them. My uncle is not saved, I witnessed to him several times and he does not want anything to do with Jesus. Hell and suffering becoming tiny??? Wow, not at all. Hell and suffering is illuminated because time is short for him and will be his reality if he continues to reject his only Saviour. I would not "spit in his face" and tell him he has been a good charitable man so he will be in heaven.
    True or False?

"And Jesus said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." (Mark 16)

Hi Steaver. There will be no strenght in numbers when Christ returns

LUKE 12 [31] But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.[32] FEAR NOT, LITTLE FLOCK; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

    only a little flock will enter the kingdom {saved}

MATT.7 [13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:[14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT.

few there be that find it

MATT.7 [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.[22] MANY WILL SAY to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?[23] And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.

In footnotes of the KJB, iniquity equals lawlessness. You can find this in 2 THES. 2 verse 7. And the many have come in the name of JESUS saying we need not keep GODS 10 commandments.

LUKE 13 [23] Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,[24] Strive to enter in at the strait gate: FOR MANY, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.[25] When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:[26] Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.[27] But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

Jesus himself tells us that “the many” will not enter the Kingdom. And he explains why. They are workers of iniquity. They do not keep Gods law. HIS 10 commandments.

ISAIAH 24 [3] The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.[4] The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.[5] The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, BROKEN THE EVERLASTING COVENANT.[6] Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, AND FEW MEN LEFT.

Well, here we are. The BOTTOM LINE. The DAY OF THE LORD (when Christ returns) and again the Word says that only a few will be saved to the kingdom.

LEV.24 [8] EVERY SABBATH he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by AN EVERLASTING COVENANT.

Is this the everlasting covenant that they broke?

According to EGW and the SDA it is. Doesn't matter about any Of God's declarations that no one shall be justified by keeping the Law or that the believer in Christ is free from the curse of the Law, No, according to SDA doctrine millions of those who love Jesus Christ and have been born of God will be cast into hell for working on the Sabbath.

Also, even the SDA is not safe. They could come to find that they violated the Sabbath in some way, maybe they did some type of task on a certain Sabbath that they really should not have done. All the Sabbath days will be examined and if you messed up, hell for you!

They may be on to something

GENESIS 2 [1] Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. [2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. [3] And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, AND SANCTIFIED IT: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

EZEKIEL 20 [12] Moreover also I GAVE THEM MY SABBATHS, TO BE A SIGN between me and them, that they might know THAT I AM THE LORD THAT SANCTIFY THEM.

The sabbath is a sign between God and his people that the “Lord does sanctify them”.

ISAIAH 66 [15] For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.[16] For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.[17] THEY THAT SANCTIFY THEMSELVES, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, EATING SWINE'S FLESH, and the abomination, and the mouse, SHALL BE CONSUMED together, saith the LORD.

Well Steaver look what Isaiah says. I just love “Day of the Lord” scriptures. No one can claim that the scripture is for ancient Israel, because its yet to be fulfilled. It will be fulfilled when Jesus returns. Anyways, if THE SABBATH IS A SIGN THAT GOD SANCTIFYS YOU. Who are those that “sanctify themselves”? Pretty simple to figure out.

Also the SDA needs to remember that God said those who want to be under the Law are obligated to do the whole Law. Hope they all have been circumcised. When the investigation is performed, God will also be judging if the Law keeper loved God enough, as it says with the whole heart, soul and might. As well as their neighbor. Very tall order, I wonder if any SDA will even make it into heaven.

So is God making you keep the Sabbath (God sanctifying you) or are you choosing yourself to keep it (sanctifying yourself)?

    Nope

1 COR. 7 [19] Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

Although the law of circumcision was nailed to the cross, Gods law (the 10 commandments) are still to be kept.

I'm going to take it slowly from Friday to Sunday.

    Mark 15

42When evening had already come, because it was the preparation day, that is, the day before the Sabbath, 43Joseph of Arimathea came, a prominent member of the Council, who himself was waiting for the kingdom of God; and he gathered up courage and went in before Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.

Day before Sabbath, thats Friday. Preparation day we are all preparing for Sabbath right?

    Matthew 27

62Now on the next day, the day after the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together with Pilate, 63and said, “Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I am to rise again.’ 64“Therefore, give orders for the grave to be made secure until the third day, otherwise His disciples may come and steal Him away and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.” 65Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go, make it assecure as you know how.” 66And they went and made the grave secure, and along with the guard they set a seal on the stone.

We know the day of preparation is the day before sabbath, here we are the day after the preparation, ON SABBATH.

The request for guard after the preparation

    Mark 16
9[Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.

    LUKE 23

50And a man named Joseph, who was a member of the Council, a good and righteous man 51(he had not consented to their plan and action), a man from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who was waiting for the kingdom of God; 52this man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 53And he took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid Him in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had ever lain. 54It was the preparation day, and the Sabbath was about to begin. 55Now the women who had come with Him out of Galilee followed, and saw the tomb and how His body was laid. 56Then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes.
And on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

    Luke 24:1
1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.

7saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”

21“But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened.

46and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,

    Luke 13
31Just at that time some Pharisees approached, saying to Him, “Go away, leave here, for Herod wants to kill You.” 32And He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I reach My goal.’

^to give you idea third day means day after tomorrow.

1 JOHN 5 [1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. [2] BY THIS WE KNOW THAT WE LOVE THE CHILDREN OF GOD, WHEN WE LOVE GOD, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. [3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

I thought maybe since you see Sabbath keeping as God's covenant sign with His children you would also see circumcision as God's covenant sign with Abraham's seed. Guess you have the right to pick and choose.

The Jews came up with a whole bunch of rules to help guide the people to follow God's command to keep the Sabbath. Do you follow these rules also or have you created a list of your own? What does Sabbath keeping look like as you see it? What are you allowed to do or not do during the Sabbath? When does the Sabbath begin and when does it end?

Also, how would you say you are doing in keeping the first Commandment? Are you loving God with all your heart, soul and might? And what does this look like or not look like?

    You missed this question...

So is God making you keep the Sabbath (God sanctifying you) or are you choosing yourself to keep it (sanctifying yourself)?

    Theres my 1st question

MATT.12 [39] But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:[40] For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; SO SHALL THE SON OF MAN BE THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH.

The above scripture says as Jonas was 3 days and 3 nights in the whales belly, and so shall Jesus be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth. Does good Friday afternoon till (easter) Sunday morning equal 3 days and 3 nights?

JOHN 20 [1] The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when IT WAS YET DARK, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

Cant even squeeze 3 days in there. Mary came to the tomb before sun up sunday mornin and Jesus had already risen
