Explicitly, no, it did not include them. The thread runs consistent through new testament that women in church do not have authority over men. Giving a job of trustee or administrator to a woman would give that authority.

The aforementioned thread was asking specifically about women holding the position of Trustee.

The vast majority on this board would agree that the position of (Senior) pastor and Deacons are to be held only by men.

Would the title of Pastor of Children's ministries (and held by a women) be inconsistent with Scripture?

May women be Sunday School Teachers - if so up to what age for boys?

Do these restrictions also hold true for a Christian School - esp if the school is under direct authority of one local church.

Would it be acceptable for a woman to be in charge of men for the church cleaning team - or is leadership only pertain to spiritual matters.

Suppose a church has a English as a Second language course- may a women be teaching men for this
class?

So what other positions in a church should only be held only by men.

Should there be restriction on what courses a women should teach men in a Christian college
(eg - Science -ok? Theology - no ok?)

Should women hold authority over men in a Christian Ministry ( ie - mission board, social agcy, ect)

Should women hold authority over men in a secular job

And now this discussion is Wide - Open for an interesting Debate!

I interpret the teaching that is limited to men is the area of doctrine. A woman teaches a class at church on the history of that town, or on tree identification, I personally do not at all see that as prohibited by literal interpretation of scripture.

When it comes to spiritual issues, Paul states in 1 Tim. 2:12 that women are not to exercise authority over a man. One chapter later he states that overseer's (elders) are to be "the husband of one wife" (1 Tim. 3:2). In verse 12, Paul makes the same demand on deacons (husband of one wife). When it comes to any other type of authority position, wisdom should dictate.

Hebrews13:7
Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

"This text, whatever may be its other value, is mainly of importance, because it indicates three tests of a genuine, God-sent leader. In the first place he speaks the word of God, in the second place his faith is fixed on a personal Saviour; and, in the third place, his life conforms to the Word of God and to the faith in Christ, and ends in a glorious immortality. Wherever we find those three indications meeting in any man or woman, we may recognize the heaven-sent leader, and it is at our peril if we do not follow such leadership." —A.T. Pierson, preaching at the Metropolitan Tabernacle, 1892.
